bike wrider: September 2012
http://bikewrider.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 26, 2012. I headed out to do some science today. My commute to the research site follows a glacier fed lake for the first eight miles. Between record snowfall last winter and a healthy amount of precipitation this summer it's been a big water year and the lake is getting too big for its britches. Their are (normally) two roughly parallel, occasionally intersecting, trails along the lake. One for ATVs and one for non-motorized users. Pretty cool if you ask me. Bankfull and Then Some.

anniebikes: Riding the Trails at Sunny Hollow
https://anniebikes.blogspot.com/2015/05/riding-trails-at-sunny-hollow.html
Commuter, culture, touring and style. Monday, May 11, 2015. Riding the Trails at Sunny Hollow. Are only three miles from home. In recent years Fellowship of the Wheel,. On a "green" beginner trail. I set out with our youngest son and his friend on a very hot day, however everyone was game and we brought plenty of water. It's been dry lately so trail conditions were just right. Insects have yet to emerge, another bonus. I was too chicken to even attempt it. From the 1980s. Before. The trails lack rocks an...

Big Dummy Daddy: The difference that a couple of days makes
http://bigdummydaddy.blogspot.com/2013/04/the-difference-that-couple-of-days-makes.html
Living life with a big green cargo bike. Wednesday, April 17, 2013. The difference that a couple of days makes. Both girls on the back of the Big Dummy for our first official Daddy/Daughters/Dummy ride. In producing one of your own. The ride itself was, by all accounts, a resounding success. As was the case with the older daughter when she was a new Big Dummy co-pilot, the younger daughter seemed to enjoy snacking along the way. Unsurprisingly, the furry daughter had no complaints about the ride. Big Sis...

bike wrider: January 2014
http://bikewrider.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 15, 2014. Lunch Hour Bike Paths and Singletrack. I have a job that I go to a couple days a week. The best part of having a job is riding a bike to and from it. In addition to commuting I've been taking advantage of the "lunch hour" encouraged by the company to get out and ride a few miles. Just a couple of minutes from the office and I'm on one of the greenbelts that wind through and across Anchorage. And boogie down to sea level to enjoy my lunch with a view of the Alaska Range. I'd b...

Things Found in the Street. Bicycles, found objects, commentary and book reviews. Friday, July 23, 2010. I’ve been meaning to get back to “Things Found in the Street” for a while now. When I began the blog at the first of the year, it was not really my intention to go at it for only a month and a half. Anyway, I am well and my family is, too. We are in the middle of a great summer and I have a lot of things about which I want to write, so here goes the blog once again…. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Things Found in the Street. Bicycles, found objects, commentary and book reviews. Thursday, July 29, 2010. Vacaciones, todo que me gusta. My family and I spent a week by seashore earlier this summer. The weather was great, the beach was nice and I found money in the street almost every day. I was also very happy to be in a place where this sculpture is one of the first things people see when they arrive in town:. Around the corner from the sculpture is this awesome mural:. Check out some of the details:.

anniebikes: The FedEx Drop
https://anniebikes.blogspot.com/2012/04/fedex-drop.html
Commuter, culture, touring and style. Thursday, April 19, 2012. As with the way things work out sometimes, I also hauled a dozen eggs. My employers are budding farmers. They have the cutest chicken shed. Yes, the building is more cottage than slap-together wood structure. But that's beside the point. So everyday there's an abundance of eggs for only two inhabitants, so I've become the sole buyer of their eggs. Not bad for $3.00 a dozen. Oh, the poor unsuspecting driver who unlocks the box. Long Term Revi...
