Another flipped attempt | The Languages Resources Blog
https://languagesresources.wordpress.com/2014/10/07/another-flipped-attempt
The Languages Resources Blog. Today I had my year 9s do the same flipped lesson that my year 9’s did last year on the past tense, with a few tweaks. Pupils gave me some WWW/EBI feedback and for the most part pupils seemed to enjoy it, which is always nice, but pupils said they would like more variety of activities (so not just grammar questions! Flipped Learning CPD session & Primary ideas | The Languages Resources Blog
https://languagesresources.wordpress.com/2014/10/15/flipped-learning-cpd-session-primary-ideas
The Languages Resources Blog. Flipped Learning CPD session and Primary ideas. Thank you to those of you who attended the Flipped Learning CPD at my school today, on behalf of the CLC in Blackpool. Below is a copy of my powerpoint. It was decided that the idea of the RAG lesson plan was probably too much for younger learners to take in, but a red group could just receive the red lesson plan and the green just the green lesson plan, and change the language to more KS1/2 friendly language. Address never mad...
Phoney Flipping aka Phlipping | The Languages Resources Blog
https://languagesresources.wordpress.com/2014/12/01/phoney-flipping-aka-phlipping
The Languages Resources Blog. Phoney Flipping aka Phlipping. Today I had a class that I was a bit too scared to flip with! I just knew that no matter what sanctions I applied, very few of them would do the home learning and watch the video on the Conditional Tense. Most children seemed to engage quite well with the video (they were certainly a lot more silent than if I were standing at the front of the room attempting to explain it! Not quite flipping, I know, but more of a phoney flip or phlip! Dom̵...

http://alexblagona.blogspot.com/2009/04/are-we-following-script.html
Are we following the script? The BBC News website. Was reporting quite heavily on Sunday claims made by an undercover reporter regarding advice given by former MFL Chief Examiner Terry Murray. The undercover 'teacher', and Nick Gibb. The Shadow Schools' Minister, who appeared as a guest on Donal McIntyre's programme. On BBC Radio 5, which ran with this as the top story. To any other subject on the curriculum. In her post on a very lively TES MFL forum. Posted by Alex Blagona. Tuesday, April 21, 2009.
Blog du Bosquet: Reading
http://blogdubosquet.blogspot.com/p/picture-books.html
The French Blog for Spring Grove Primary School in Wye, near Ashford in Kent. You can never have enough French picture books! Here are some classroom favourites. Animal guessing book written in verse. Books with flaps always go down well. Really simple text, again practising colours and parts of the body. Nursery and Reception love this one. Parts of the body - and after a couple of readings the whole class can join in with the song. But with much simpler vocabulary. Another Eric Carle classic - lovely p...

http://domsmflpage.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Welcome to the rambling thoughts of a 40-something languages teacher with too much time on his hands, most of it spent in the kitchen. If you have any comments or questions about language learning or resources please email or follow me on twitter @dominic mcg. Wednesday, 29 October 2014. Many teachers, parents and students can see no educational value in wordsearch puzzles. As a teacher of languages I often find that they can be quite useful. To engage students who struggle to read. Personally, I'm not t...

The Languages Resources Blog. Today I posted a question in the MFL Secondary Matters facebook group, as I wanted to get some opinions from other teachers, and wondered if anyone used Knowledge Organisers. I have seen examples of Knowledge Organisers (KOs) from Michaela. Examples that are a sort of vocabulary list – with questions and verb conjugations included-presented on quizlet/ memrise. And an example that is like the second one but presented as a single sheet. Ma Ville – Year 8. October 1, 2017.
