Political Whirlwind: October 2009
http://politicalwhirlwind.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 19, 2009. I came across a blog on the "pinkdome" website and the blog discusses the new spin on same-sex marriage. Texas has taken pretty recently. Texas has already voted on the issue, and as stated in the blog, seventy five percent of voters adopted the definition of marriage as being between one man and one woman. However now Judge Tena Callahan has ruled that couples may divorce within the state and that the law adopted by Texas violates the constitution. Posted by K.Reading. The smal...

The Lone Star State: Texans Helping Texans
http://512austintx.blogspot.com/2009/10/texans-helping-texans.html
The Lone Star State. Monday, October 19, 2009. I chose The North Texas Conservative on "Vote "Yes" On Proposition 7. Because if it isn't passed it could take the right away from a police officer to not be allowed to help out in the Texas State Guard, Texas National Guard, Texas Air Guard, etc. I agree with Mr. Griffith and would vote yes on Proposition 7. We would be losing great leaders, mentors, and Texans who are willing to put their life on the line for others. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Political Whirlwind: December 2009
http://politicalwhirlwind.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 11, 2009. Eeny, meeny, miny, mo. Response to: Don't Mess With Texas. Ironically the URL to this blog is called "Don't Mess With Texas" and apparently in Texas we should finish that statement by adding "Or else we'll sentence you to death by lethal injection! How is it that one man can, in cold blood, murder another man and just be sentenced to life in prison (which yes is punishment)? How in any body's mind can that make any sense? All I can hope is that there is some huge piece of the p...

Political Whirlwind: Prisoners are Priority?
http://politicalwhirlwind.blogspot.com/2009/11/prisoners-are-priority.html
Monday, November 2, 2009. According to health officials prisoners in Texas prisons will not be getting H1N1. Vaccines ahead of law abiding citizens. They were reported as saying that many prisoners will be vaccinated only if they are considered to be high risk for getting the swine flu, and pregnant women in order to protect their unborn baby. My first reaction was: WELL DUH! Just consider it part of your punishment. Paying in order to keep these people fed, clothed, and warm at night is astronomical.

RJ'S PAC: Transparency takes a grass-roots effort!
http://rjspac.blogspot.com/2009/11/transparency-takes-grass-roots-effort.html
Friday, November 27, 2009. Transparency takes a grass-roots effort! Begs the question, are we getting the full story here? The truth is that we aren't getting any story at all. What has happened to investigative reporting in this country? After reading this, my only questions are:. 1 Has it become proper english to begin a sentence with the word "But"? 9 out of 10 2nd graders say. absolutely not). 2 What was left out of this statement, and conveniently replaced with the symbol "-"? The first step toward ...

Political Turf: Death Penalty in Texas
http://astowell.blogspot.com/2009/11/death-penalty-in-texas.html
Let the best man win! Monday, November 2, 2009. Death Penalty in Texas. At the end of the day, I think that we need to change a system and process to better provide a solution to people that could possibly be placed on death row. Just imagine if you were the person that was sentenced to death row and you knew that you were innocent, but there was nothing you could do to find the system. November 16, 2009 at 7:41 AM. Let the best man win! Tuesday, September 22, 2009. Comptroller: Energy bill will cost jobs. Http:/ www.kxan.com/dpp/mobile/Comptroller energy bill will cost jobs. I was reading an article from KXAN's political section and came across something that I found to be interesting. There is currently a new energy bill that is moving through Congress that will implement a cap and trade on energy use. The comptroller is saying that if passed it will cost Texans over a hundred thousand jobs. If they were to pass a...

The Lone Star State: Texas Beaten Future
http://512austintx.blogspot.com/2009/11/texas-beaten-future.html
The Lone Star State. Monday, November 16, 2009. My comment is on Soheb's, "Can we stop Child Abuse in Central Texas? In 2006 and not any time sooner, knowing that the number of abuses was twice the size then any other state. I think facilities like the Relief Nursery of Central Texas is a good start, but we can do better than that as Texans. Just by asking out own kids simple questions such as, how was school today? Or did anything interesting happen to you today? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The Lone Star State. Friday, December 11, 2009. Texas Edumacation (* *). I chose to comment on ExtraordiMary. I know being a teacher isn't the highest paid profession in the world or that its pleasant, but if you chose to do this job and not like it, then why are you even teaching at all? Maybe the question is; why is Texas letting you teach like at all if you're not doing your job right? Did you know that the newspaper has to interpret its words to that of a middle school student level? The Eyes of Texas.
