Laura's travel daze. TRAVEL.FUN.LEARNING.LAUGHS. I guess I better give it a go…. Most fun day – was in San Pedro de Atacama. It was a day full of mountain biking, hiking, sand boarding, Valley of the Moon tour and star gazing. Lessons learnt – follow your heart and do what makes YOU happy. Lessons reiterate – as always, you pay for what you get. Know when it’s better to play it safe and pay more. Biggest surprise – the city of Buenos Aires absolutely blew me out of the water. Plan or not to plan? On this...

Laura's travel daze. TRAVEL.FUN.LEARNING.LAUGHS. Having travelled around Peru for nearly a month this is what I can pass on to other travellers. Lake Titicaca – on the Peruvian side of Lake Titicaca I stayed in a homely hostel called Inka Rest Hostal. Located close to the main street and only a 5 minute taxi ride from the bus station it was nice to stay in for one night. Arequipa – staying at the social and friendly Arequipay Backpackers Downtown was a great few days. OK facilities and location...Huaraz ...

A year or so out and about around Latin America. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Monthly Archives: May 2013. Panama coffee, canal, cocktail….ciao for now Central America. May 16, 2013. Lesson learnt, don’t brag about something your going to do…wait till you’ve completed it! To make up for a slightly wasted first day I stepped it up the next day. Firstly I took a tour of a very small artisanal coffee plantation. I have to confess I didn’t think it would be very interestin...The place w...

A year or so out and about around Latin America. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Monthly Archives: June 2013. Cold feet and Chicken Feet: Colca Canyon, Puno and Lake Titicaca. June 29, 2013. We left Arequipa by 8 on a bus that would be ours for the next three days with a driver and another guide and headed up higher into the Colca Canyon region. After an hour we passed the runner of the event that had set off early in the morning, he was at least forty going at a decent pace! The next...

I had a day to relax (not be in transit! In Fortelaza, got laundry done, walked to the ocean front, and bought some food to make my own dinner for the first time in a very long time which cost four times as much as if I’d just gone to another pay by weight buffet restaurant! August 20, 2013. I had a few more days in Salvador, which I took pretty easy just enjoying the place. One afternoon at the small central Barra beach, which was packed and great fun, “Olodum” live drum show, some excellent Bahia cuisine, one total washout day when it did not stop raining! Morro de São Paulo.

Like most travellers other than Utila I was pretty much sweeping through Honduras. If I had more time I would have liked to stay in a few places before crossing over to Nicaragua. March 2, 2014 · 4:09 pm. Well, friends and esteemed readers, I made it through 28 days of feminine presentation. I am now better at wearing heels and lipstick, about the same as before on doing my hair, and not even slightly competent at putting on false eyelashes. Five seconds before everything went to hell:. I did not get asked out more often, which was fine with me. I have a suspicion that I got away with being the “sweet innocent girl” to a greater degree because of the costume.
