Sunday, September 13, 2009. My friend was having a Curious George themed birthday party for her little boy. So of course we had to have a big yellow hat! For the hat, I just layered different sizes of round cakes and then carved it to the shape that I wanted. I covered it in yellow fondant and placed it on top of a yellow fondant circle. These monkey cupcakes were super simple and a BIG hit with the kids! I'm pretty sure they were more excited about these than they were about the cake! How cute is this?

Monday, March 9, 2009. This cake was for an awesome Luau! It was a coconut cake with vanilla buttercream. It is an 8 inch and 4.5 inch tiered cake covered in fondant. The flowers on the sides are piped buttercream and then hand "painted" to give them texture and blended colors. The topper is a hand made Gum Paste/Fondant Fantasy Flower. Ollie - love it!
