girl meets world

May it only sting a moment. When you dive into that blue. Cause by the time you hit the surface. It has rearranged you. This is the sweet spot of your life. This is our life right now. This extremely accurate description. Of feeding a baby is exactly what our life is about right now. I laughed so hard I cried. Todd laughed so hard he woke the baby sleeping on his chest. And lots of other mundane firsts that seem significant only to a baby's parents. :). Oatmeal or peanut butter waffles. Baked tofu, salad.

girl meets world: Firsts

http://www.leafyme.blogspot.com/2012/05/firsts.html

And lots of other mundane firsts that seem significant only to a baby's parents. :). But also, my first Mother's Day. Thanks, Baby. I'm glad you're here. Oatmeal or peanut butter waffles. Lunches: leftover baked ziti, carrot-sweet potato soup, salads. Grapefruit, lactation cookies. Salad, grazing on random things. Stuffed pork roast, roasted Brussels sprouts, macaroni and cheese. Baked tofu, salad. I don’t know - can’t think that far in advance right now. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

girl meets world: 03.12

http://www.leafyme.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Anyway. This weekend! Here's the plan for this week. It's not super ambitious, but we're eating out at several events this week, and I'm still trying to work my way through our freezer of unknown treasures. This week I pulled out a pork roast and some awesome toffee brownies, both of which were a nice surprise. Who knows what else I'll find in there! Lunches: matzoh ball soup, baked tofu. Roasted Brussels sprouts, carrot-sweet potato mash. Out, for a fundraiser dinner. At trivia, maybe potstickers.

So, I was really looking forward to having this whole week off (including Fri last week and Mon next week) - I never have that much time off without it meaning that we're traveling somewhere. I had all these grand plans, like Clean The Whole House! Start Setting Up the Baby's Room! Make All the Home Repairs You've Ever Thought Of! I have also spent countless hours researching cloth diapers, strollers, car seats, and all the different contraptions for baby-wearing. Then I needed another nap. Random snacki...

What did I used to do? It didn't take me very long to get quite bored without my husband around. What did I used to do to occupy myself? I mean, I know there was always grad school stuff, but that certainly wasn't fun. I remember mutual tv-watching phone dates (um, Trading Spaces, Boy Meets World anyone? Getting back on track. Breakfasts: egg sandwich: egg beaters and tomatoes on Flat Round. Mid-morning snacks: peach-banana smoothie. Lunches: butternut squash soup. Monday: Labor Day burgers and such.

Wow, I have really fallen off the blogging wagon, eh? Sammy is doing amazingly well. We finished up his treatments last week and he has no sign of disease at this point. He's back to his old self, torturing his brothers, eating like a pig, and sleeping on my head. Huzzah! More on that another time. Let's see, what else....

take it easy... but take it.: March 2012

http://leafyg.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Take it easy. but take it. Friday, March 16, 2012. I am not so good at this menu-planning thing and hardly followed through on any of the last meals I planned. And I have been traveling and will be traveling soon again and need not to eat so much crap. Let's try again, shall we? Friday: Out to dinner with C. and grocery shopping. Saturday: Lemony mushrooms and salmon. Work breakfasts: Shannon's steel-cut oats with dried apples and cinnamon. Wednesday: White bean cassoulet from a cookbook.

http://leafyg.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Take it easy. but take it. Sunday, January 08, 2012. I periodically decide to do menu planning like my better-organized compatriots, and then promptly forget whatever I'd planned the moment I get to the grocery store. So, I will try it. Let's see. Breakfasts: banana peanut-butter muffins. Or oatmeal; clementines. Lunches and snacks: salads (spinach, red onion, bell peppers, feta) with leftover salmon cakes or tofu and yogurt blue-cheese dressing; yogurt; clementines and apples; Special K protein bars.

The Beat of a Different Fummer

http://differentfummer.blogspot.com/2010/10/well-its-october.html

The Beat of a Different Fummer. Different Fummer, RN. A shiny new graduate nurse embarking upon her second career while navigating the insanity that is healthcare in America. Well, it's October. Thank goodness. As previously mentioned, September is historically a bad month. I don't know why September out of the other 11 months is usually the bad one but it is. Sigh. The colors look really pink online but I assure you we have not picked anything even remotely pink. We ordered a beautiful sectional sofa.

Also, hiring managers come right out and tell you they won't hire you if you came from a SNF. But, damn, it feels like being caught between a rock and a hard place. And yet, I'm still jealous. What the hell? This just feels like 2001 all over again. Demoralizing to say the least. Remember the time before cell phones? And then there'...

Thoughts on Memorial Day. That is what I think about on Memorial Day. Not sales at Macy's or trips to the beach. I think about people like my dad and wonder what might have been. Also, the facility name does not lend itself so nicely to switching around letters such that we end up with the Hiami Merald (Hee! I'm excited to do that&#...
