Lean and still Green: October 2008

http://www.leanandstillgreen.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

Lean and still Green. Oh at ruddy last. View my complete profile. Monday, 6 October 2008. Oh at ruddy last. I've dropped a couple of Kilos and its staying off. Tea, tea and more tea seems to be the key. I'm sure that this sudden cold spell is helping as well :-). As for green things. well, I found a copy of The climate diet and D. MaCarthy's book in the libray, so reading of them is continuing a pace. Although, I suspect I may look like an apple by the end of the month. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Lean and still Green: September 2008

Lean and still Green. On the way again. Water, water, water. Leftovers as portion control. View my complete profile. Sunday, 14 September 2008. Write it down again, and watch the calories not going in. I kept a list yesterday, and a couple of days before, so that I'd have a 'day' to contribute to a thread on a 'site. And its true - when you write it down you don't eat as much, or as badly. Tomorrow I find a notebook and do it a little, better. Wednesday, 10 September 2008. On the way again. Rather needed...

Lean and still Green. View my complete profile. Saturday, 30 August 2008. A banana as a base, or maybe some mango. or if you are being local food minded then maybe a pear or apple (in season of course! You can easily use the pieces of those that you might not want to eat - cosmetically a bit bleurgh, but following a careful pick over and wash quite edible :-) Maybe add in a handful of berries - from the freezer if you like to make it thicker. Thursday, 14 August 2008. Hmm - well eating less will cost you...

Lean and still Green. Eco your home zone. View my complete profile. Sunday, 28 June 2009. Eco your home zone. Long time no post. becoming pregnant rather halts the whole 'weight loss' thing. Although I'm now due in 6 or so (so could be 10, lol) weeks, and currently weigh 'just' 72 Kgs (which given that I started this pregnancy weighing 65kg is, um, interesting :0 ). But on with the things for the blog :-) Here be 20! 6 Air leakage wastes an enormous amount of thermal energy. Seal all leaky doors and ...

My blog - newly discovered so I thought I'd use it. Mismatch of ramblings, lifestyle (frugal, green, WAHM -ing, home ed. and other stuff :-). Thursday, May 12, 2005. On a better note. We had a fantastic weekend in London, lots of eating and home ed'ing was done. Only a little shopping :-). All whilst DP slaved away in a hot server room :-(. Oh well - that won't be happening again for a while. Posted by Helen @ 8:28 PM. Or "Oh no, not again! Well today the house went back on the market. Let us try again.

Wednesday, October 08, 2008. Yes, two posts in one day. trying to make up for the lack of writing over the last few. So shoot me, I've been cooking! This one definately makes the list of things I will eat again. A thrown together dish from the freezer and the fridge and seriously yummy (I could probably have eaten my serving and DPs, and the extra portion for him to take for lunch tomorrow; but that would make me a pig. so I didn't and left space for cake :-) ). 4 Tbsp chopped cooked tomatoes. Thursday, January 27, 2005. Getting down the stockpile. Using up the cupboard, lol. Yellow Split peas tonight. What was left of the packet (about 300g) in water and got underway. Fine cube of two potatoes (about 150g) and two small onions (again, around 150g). And add to water plus yellow split peas. Cooked for about 30 minutes, until most of the water was absorbed. Was a little bland so stirred through 2 tsp stock powder. Posted by Helen at 6:24 PM. Sunday, January 23, 2005. 2 tbsp Olive Oil. Serve as d...

Monday, October 06, 2008. Currently working my way through Vegan a Go Go by Susan Kramer. Bought it at last months London Vegan Fair. So far we've had the tofu loaf, banana loaf cake, chop chip cake bars and the faux egg salad. oh, and I'm having a great time with the various spice mixes :-). I'm not sure where its being sold in the UK, but I bought my copy from the Secret Society of Vegans (who don't, of course, exist ;-) ) but your source may vary. Posted by Helen at 2:16 PM. Reading and Recipes: April 2005

Friday, April 29, 2005. This was lunch today. 2 cups of red lentils. Started that simmering. Then added:. 1 large Sweetpotato, cut into 1cm cubes and 1 finely chopped onion. Made sure that it was well stirred, covered and left to cook for 10 mins - which was about as long as the lentils took to cook. Cut in to it the stalks of a dozen spears of asparugus. Fresh from a local farm yesterday evening :-). Turned off heat and left to stand. This ends up like a slightly damp pilaff. Whilst that was standing.

Saturday, June 25, 2005. Eek- lots of reading to catch you all up on. Well - I've rediscovered www.goddessmums.com Very cool 'site, although not all the 'associated' 'sites are for the faint hearted. I've been spending some time in the run up to the 15th of July re-reading the Harry Potter books. As I type I've just finished reading Goblet of Fire and, having found it under the bed (must clear that more often! Will be beginning Order of the Phoenix tomorrow. Back to the reading it is then :-).

Reading and Recipes: May 2005

http://readingandrecipes.blogspot.com/2005_05_01_archive.html

Tuesday, May 17, 2005. Todays lunch was a using up of fruit from the fridge. Whip all up together in a blender and eat. Mousse-like texture, sweet taste (don't taste the avo at all) and an interesting green colour. Would serve 3 or 4 as a pudding, but ate it all up myself, garnished with a few chewy banana chips. Posted by Helen at 2:41 PM. Things I have read and Recipes I have 'discovered' either from books, the internet, or my own brainpower. Warning - recipes will be vegan, and sometimes raw :-).
