Learning to Teach

The art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery. Mark Van Doren. Sunday, June 28, 2015. First off, teaching was great! It wasn't always the best (I had one class that really tried my patience), but it was always worth the time and effort. It was amazing to see my students progress through the year and how they always wanted to keep trying. Well, most of them wanted to keep trying most of the time. My students were great. I will always have fond memories of my first year. Sunday, September 28, 2014.

The art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery. Mark Van Doren. Sunday, January 26, 2014. Student Teaching Week 2. So, here I am at the end of week 2 of my student teaching. I can't believe it! Always working hard to get their work done. I am so impressed with how hard they work and how little they complain. Overall, I've really enjoyed these past two weeks working with the teachers and students. It's been really fun and the kids are getting used to me being in charge rather than their regular...

The art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery. Mark Van Doren. Sunday, April 28, 2013. End of Semester Six. So, I've been meaning to write a post on how my teaching has been going but time flew by much quicker than I expected. Now that the semester is practically over, I have some time to relax and reflect on what has happened. I can't believe I've almost finished six semesters of college (only finals week left)! This is sooo crazy! This is sometime how I feel while teaching:. End of Semester Six.

kellieandpaul: Food Trucks

http://kellieandpaul.blogspot.com/2013/10/food-trucks.html

Sunday, October 20, 2013. So a few blocks from our apartment is a park where these trucks hang out and sell food. SO of course we had to give it a try. From the above truck we got this bbq brisket on baked potatoes. We also tried this southern BBQ sandwich, which was amazing. And who could miss out on a dessert of deep fried oreos drizzled with chocolate sauce. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). There was an error in this gadget. New semester at Tech. Thursday, March 21, 2013. Ping Pong Ball Balancing Robot. During spring break Paul decided to put his control theory skills to the test and build a robotic teeter totter that would balance a ping pong ball without dropping it. Although it doesn't work perfectly yet. Here is what it looks like so far. Here is Kellie with one of the hail stones after the storm passed. Its roughly between the size of a baseball and golf ball. http://kellieandpaul.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html

Friday, October 5, 2012. It had been two months since we cut Paul's hair in Utah, so we figured it was looking ready for a trim. We got out the scissors and electric hair clipper and were ready to go. Here is the before pic. He was excited! I think I was more nervous since I was doing the cutting and didn't want it to turn out ugly. A picture of all the hair that fell to the floor.kinda gross. I couldn't believe he had so much hair. Heading back into town the night of a game. Six Flags Over Georgia.

kellieandpaul: Stone Mountain

http://kellieandpaul.blogspot.com/2013/10/stone-mountain.html

Sunday, October 20, 2013. Since we enjoyed Stone Mountain so much last thanksgiving, we thought we would go and see the big rock again. Since it is rainy you can't really see the Atlanta skyline in the distance. Its pumpkin season and time for scarecrows. Do you recognize these guys? As Kellie beat Paul in a round of mini-golf, she had to have her picture taken by this golfing scarecrow. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). There was an error in this gadget. New semester at Tech. Learning How to Sit

Thursday, December 29, 2011. We give Gimli and Virginia hair cuts at home to save money. We have perfected our method and gotten our time down to less than 2 hours for both dogs including a bath. They look pretty darn good, if I do say so myself! I am praying that I will quit fighting God when His plans are different than what I want, and learn to let Him have the control of my life He deserves and desires as my loving Father. Thursday, December 29, 2011. Tuesday, December 27, 2011. Gimli loves to sit up...

Learning How to Suffer | Cycling, travel and other voluntary forms of discomfort.

Cycling, travel and other voluntary forms of discomfort. Learning How to Suffer. The goal is simple: ride 500km between December 24 and December 31. I rode the Festive 500. I hadn’t much thought about it this year, until something clicked in late November and I. Not at all an auspicious start. The plan had been to get up early to tack some extra km on the ride in to work. Did I mention I have largely lost the ability to wake up early? 40 km done/ 460 remaining. A big day (or two?
