What’s in a name? | Learningtorelax's Blog
https://learningtorelax.wordpress.com/2009/02/24/whats-in-a-name
The art of food online. What’s in a name? February 24, 2009, 3:31 am. This is my first post. I had to go through some tension to get here, but I’m calm now. My husband and I got into a heated discussion over what this blog should be called. I wanted. Or something of that sort. We went back and forth with each of us passionately stating our case. At one point I called a friend to break the tension but she only added to it by asking her son who threw a new idea into the mix. I’m learning how to relax.

The art of food online. April 14, 2009, 2:57 am. The girls are young and had to take several breaks. On a few of them, I remained in the room tossing all those dollar-store things that well-meaning people have given them over the years. The complainer in my head wondered how this influx could be stopped while I hurled half-colored, coloring books and scads of plastic, beaded jewelry into the laundry basket that would cart it all away. April 11, 2009, 3:59 pm. By 11 am I had finished up enough work that I...

I was never a yogini | Learningtorelax's Blog

The art of food online. I was never a yogini. April 9, 2009, 2:33 am. I am a dancer first and a gym bunny second. I love the artistic expression of dance. Every once in a while I have an opportunity to perform and last week was one of those rare occasions. But when the applause died and the need to rehearse was over I immediately reverted back into gym bunny mode and made plans to go to the aerobic and sculpting classes at my local YMCA. The art of food online. April 11, 2009, 3:59 pm. My daughter was home sick yesterday. I knew that she was running a high fever, but I didn’t know yet that it was the second time she had caught the yucky, 24-hour, puke virus that sweeps through her school every year. Once again, when I was scheduled to have social-me time it got botched at the last-minute. I read an article on Oprah’s site. Where women spoke openly about the downside of being tethered to children along with the ugly fact that we often hav...

When ready to use, remove the fibrous stalk end by holding each stalk by both ends and bend until it snaps in two. These stalk ends can be used for soup (asparagus) stock. When just picked the spears can be steamed in less than 3 minutes; the older stalks will require more time, of course. The New Whole Foods E...

Learning To Read
Because reading doesn't count unless you write about it. Monday, 6 June 2011. The Mysteries of Pittsburgh. There's something bittersweet about delving into a favourite author's early work. It's pretty exciting to see how an author has grown over the years; what talents they always had, what weaknesses they have or haven't lost, which aspects were seeded long before they were developed. The Mysteries of Pittsburgh. And Kavalier and Clay. Although I know there's people who don't agree with that). Much of i...

Learning to Reawaken | seeking joyful simplicity
September 4, 2016. The route travelled around Boularderie Island. A few weeks back I had an itch to do some longer walks so I decided, on a bit of a whim, to walk around the island I currently live on Boularderie Island. I had heard that there are local folks who sometimes do this in the spring as a fundraiser, so it was not entirely an original idea! Continue reading →. The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. Learning to relive your life
Learning to relive your life. Thursday, May 2, 2013. My First Semester Back. So on my way to school, riding and talking with my dad, I can only imagine comes on. That song we played at my uncle's funeral. Talk about signs. The best thing about that is I got my old friend back. The other is my cousin calls me up and ask how I feel about blind dates. Hilarious right? She still has her moments as we all do. Just the other day I was out to lunch with my cousin and she told Tanner said I miss my ninny....

My Journey – Learning to Rend the Veil. And again, I exhort you, my brethren, that ye deny not the gifts of God, for they are many; and they come from the same God. And there are different ways that these gifts are administered; but it is the same God who worketh all in all; and they are given by the manifestations of the Spirit of God unto men, to profit them. (Moroni 10:8). Learning to “See” – Introduction. We cannot see it; but when our bodies are purified. We shall see that it is all matter. I still ...
