Learning to Walk in Heels

Learning to Walk in Heels. Tuesday, 24 January 2012. January. Traditionally the most boring month of the year. After a manic weekend with F in London, I arrived back to Bucharest to chaos at the luggage carousel, an argument (in Romanian) with a couple of thieving taxi drivers who wanted to charge me five times the fare to get back from the airport, and part of my flat reduced to rubble where my landlord had decided to rip the bathroom out. Welcome to Romania. Happy New Year. Or maybe I'm just getting old.

Learning to Walk in Heels: Who Knew?

http://learningtowalkinheels2011.blogspot.com/2011/11/who-knew.html

Learning to Walk in Heels. Thursday, 10 November 2011. My epiphany was like being whacked in the face with a sledge hammer. Like someone shaking me really hard and telling me to wake up and get a grip. It was like a voice beaming down from the sky and telling me that actually, I'm crazy about The History Boy and have been for quite some time. Hours later, as he held me in bed, we started laughing, unable to believe that something so momentous had been going on for so long and that we hadn't realised.

Learning to Walk in Heels: December 2011

Learning to Walk in Heels. Saturday, 3 December 2011. Me and my Nose Clip. I'm in love with The History Boy. You guys know that, right? But there are other things going on in my life. I don't want to turn into one of those smug women who only ever talk about their boyfriends/ husbands and 'we' all the time. This week, I have decided to write about something other than my relationship (which is blissful) sorry. and fill you in on another remarkable discovery that I have made. Bear with me. The next day, a...

Learning to Walk in Heels: The History Boy

http://learningtowalkinheels2011.blogspot.com/2011/10/history-boy.html

Learning to Walk in Heels. Sunday, 16 October 2011. I've met an amazing man. We spend pretty much all day every day together, and we laugh and laugh. He takes me out for dinner and we have long conversations about the meaning of life. I adore him. He adores me. The other night he stayed over. But he's just a friend. For the purposes of this blog I will call him The History Boy. 8220; You and me,” he said contemplatively, “Could never go out with each other. We get on too well.”. You mean there's more?

Learning to Walk in Heels: October 2011

http://learningtowalkinheels2011.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

Learning to Walk in Heels. Friday, 28 October 2011. Recently I've been reflecting on the things that really make me happy. I've been consciously attempting to make my life as pleasurable as possible and the phrase 'Life's Too Short' comes up again and again. Life is too short to spend all day at work. Life is too short to run after unavailable men. Life is too short to set ourselves unrealistic, unattainable targets. But maybe, just maybe, I'm finally learning to walk in heels. Sunday, 16 October 2011.

It's Unspeakably Beautiful... Limerick

It's Unspeakably Beautiful. Limerick. Thursday, May 19, 2011. I left my heart in Ireland. When I first came to Ireland I was welcomes with the phrase, "Céad míle fáilte romhat". Now I am back in New York and I long to be back in the Emerald Isle. I don't know what I want to do for school, or for work. I feel as if summer gives me so many goals to pursue, from books to catch up on to things that I want to learn. Words cannot describe how much I want to go back. It was truly the best experience of my life.

One Widow's Journey

Wednesday, October 3, 2012. How Long Have I Been Lost? Have you ever walked through your life and been utterly unaware of changes inside of you? Changes that you didn't notice because just dealing with your everyday life took every bit of your conscious effort? A couple of years ago, I would have adamantly declared that this description had nothing to do with me. I would even have argued the point. But I would have been wrong. When did I see you hungry and feed you? Counting on the Lord to sustain me.

LEARNING TO WALK IN HEELS

Sunday, May 1, 2016. So here we go.31 days of reminding myself that everyone -myself included - is doing the best they can. And following that reminder up with another reminder to offer kindness and compassion and respect instead of being judgy and disconnected. And then following both of those up with an offering of light and love to those who brought me to this point. Myself included. Links to this post. Thursday, April 14, 2016. It's time for another 12 of 12 post! How boring for him. 12 My people&#46...

Learning to Walk in Heels. Pushing Back the Darkness. Filed Under: Live Out Your Calling. Like Bilbo Baggins, my life is considered to be very respectable. I rarely have any adventures or do anything unexpected as that is not acceptable behavior for the Bagginses or for me. However, also like Bilbo, the Wizard has knocked on the door of my heart and summoned me on an unexpected journey. At the end of my journey, there is…. Be willing to give. Learning to Walk in Ruby Slippers. Friday, May 10, 2013. When He says He draws nigh. When we draw nigh unto Him. We, His prodigals,. No matter how far. Or deep away we have been. He lets us in. To feast on His Spirit. Over and over again. What a son will do for love of a mother. It was an insensitive demand. That you relinquish that last vestige. Of manhood, that in his presence,. Learning to walk slower. July 21, 2010 · 6:33 pm. Solutions for a Troubled Kitchen. Since I started getting more serious about cooking and baking sometime during college, I’ve come to realize that there are a handful of issues I run into on a regular basis while cooking/cleaning that many other people, including you, probably run into as well. The following is a list of problems that I’ve come to learn throughout the years, all of which have. Fingers reek from the garlic I chopped last night! My Nalgene ...

Walking slowly | Footsteps into Africa

The luxury of leaving. On day 4, we stood in a circle and held hands while Lawrence fondly nicknamed ‘the Pastor’ asked that God bless my safe return. It was nearly dark: we’d waited a long time for Okwiri, who’d spent all day with a mechanic after some kids vandalised the friend’s car he’d borrowed to drive us into Dandora. But there was still time for a prayer. ‘Does it feel like a ritual? It’s nice’, I said and was glad I didn’t have to lie. But I wasn’t the only one. On day one, these people had lite...
