leavesofcurry

A poem from the future. February 4, 2015. Editor’s note: This poem kicks off a new Question Worth Asking series: How weird will the future be? First up: a piece from poet and TED Fellow Ben Burke. Dear Helen- So sorry. Didn’t have time to write that poem. But my future self sent me one yesterday. So we’re good. Crazy, right? It’s totally legit and actually from the future, so no need to double-check, you’re probably too busy anyway. Happy New Year! TOO MANY RIVERS, NOT ENOUGH LAKES. 1,168 more words.

Waiting – leavesofcurry

https://leavesofcurry.wordpress.com/2015/02/04/waiting/comment-page-1

February 4, 2015. On Wednesday I asked the students in my class to describe what they’d been doing earlier in the day, before our afternoon session began. While they scribbled I wrote alongside them, producing a dull summary of actions and toil until I came to. There is always waiting. It begins in the still-dark morning when my dog barks at a sound I can’t hear. I wait for R. to get out of bed and take her outside so I can go back to sleep. But really so I can go back to waiting. Keep to a schedule.

10 Short Medieval Poems Everyone Should Read. February 4, 2015. Looking for some great short medieval poems which are easy to read? Look no further than this, our latest post. Medieval poetry can be a daunting field to dip into (to mix our metaphors terribly). Although Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales. Are masterpieces and essential reading, perhaps the best route into medieval poetry as with any poetry is to start small. What follows is our pick of the best short medieval poems written in English. How strong would a magnetic field have to be to kill you? – leavesofcurry

How strong would a magnetic field have to be to kill you? February 4, 2015. There’s a great joke. In Futurama, the cartoon comedy show, about a horror movie for robots. In the movie, a planet of robots is terrorized by a giant non-metallic being (a monsterified human). The human is finally defeated by a makeshift spear, which prompts the robot general to say:. Funny, isn’t it? The human was impervious to our most powerful magnetic fields, yet in the end he succumbed to a harmless sharpened stick. Meet Ma...

Meet Maggie. She makes her own clothes. February 4, 2015. During my recent foray into wardrobe minimalism. And a general engagement on the philosophy of what to wear. Makes her own clothes. She makes her own clothes. Even though I was homeschooled, I cannot even imagine attempting the same. But I find her endeavor so inspiring, and I wanted to sit down with her and talk about her lifestyle of dressing herself in handmade garments. Reacting to Objects: Mindfulness, Tech and Emotion | Museum in a Bottle

Reacting to Objects: Mindfulness, Tech and Emotion. By Alli Burness on 29 April 2013. There’s been a lot of discussion about mindful looking and unplugging in museums of late. By pure coincidence, I’ve been thinking about looking at objects while traveling over the last 2 months, developing an understanding of how mindfulness and technology work together for me to connect emotionally with museum objects. Report, and subsequent posts flesh out how the idea has evolved. Regan Forrest ( @interactivate.

The Last Light of the Sun and Other Poems

The Last Light of the Sun and Other Poems. Instead of following the traditional path of a chap book, I am using this blog as an evolving form for poems both old and new (e.g. the title piece is yet to be written). I do not see myself as a poet, but I enjoy writing these pieces and hope that some people might enjoy reading them. It is really as simple as that. Sunday, February 04, 2018. Like a wilted rose. And the old equation. Is poetic license,. Knowledge is gone,. Buried deep in muck. The cat, they say.

Leaves Of Crass | An opinionated view on all manner of things …

An opinionated view on all manner of things …. I’m tired and I want to go . Oh, if you really must . If I was Fernando Alonso right now, concussion aside, I’d be sat at home wondering what the hell was going on and how I’d manoeuvred myself out of a (now) semi-competitive car in the 2015 . Is it me you’re looking for? Probably not, but for those of you who found your way here and find yourselves wanting to stay, just like Mr Tumble, I say hello.* To explain what ‘here’. Mar 16, 2015. Leaves of Eve, the Online Nature Journal of Debi Cates-Bleam

Monday, February 08, 2010. Race Field Week 01 - summary. Time has rolled around and is February once again. The leaves that continue to hang on fourwing saltbush have turned dull, the curly grass is getting torn and gray, the birds and critters have eaten every last berry and seed. Even the bright, sunny sky that we are lucky to have so frequently seems part of the conspiracy to wash out all color, all signs of vibrancy. But it's February in West Texas, and that's the way it is. Race Field Week 01. Milip...

God News is good news! Heavenly Minded or Earthly Good? Asymp; Deixe o seu comentário. HEAVENLY MINDED OR EARTHLY GOOD? April 4, 2014 Jeffrey Rosario. It’s been said that Christians are so heavenly minded that they’re no earthly good. That’s a tragic indictment. It infers that with all the injustices and pressing needs of this. World, what good is it to be fixated on a future, distant world? Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth ( Colossians 3:2, ESV. The reality of hea...
