Ni hao! Zachary in Asia!: June 2008
http://zacharyinasia.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 29, 2008. SOMA lands in Harbin, China! The Sound of Music is now back on the ground in China! We took the fastest train in the world, the Maglev, into Shanghai. It runs on magnets and went 350 kilometers per hour! During the mid-day, it goes 450 kmh! The flight attendants literally evacuated their carts and ran to seat to buckle in. We arrived in Harbin as the sun was rising at 3:30 am! What a weird place! That's all for now! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Video from the Show: Scene 1.

The Sound of Music - Asia tour 2008: August 2008
http://soundofmusicasia.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
The Sound of Music - Asia tour 2008. Tuesday, August 12, 2008. I think I forgot to blog about our First Annual SOMA Olympic Paddle Boat Races! It's a brilliant tale. We were all set to meet in the lobby at 3 pm on Friday afternoon in Fuzhou. Costumes and mascots were encouraged for teams, but Michael (Captain von Trapp) and I had not planned to do anything for our team: The Thunderous, Rampaging, Monstrous Rubber Duckies. Yes, the name was his idea. We ate a quick lunch at McDonald's (shame on us! Each t...

Get this: we talked Sunday night. I went to sleep and thought about the idea. Woke up Monday and asked my parents their opinions. Got their FULL support. Bought a plane ticket Monday morning for a departure Tuesday night! Yes, in 2 short days my life has changed completely! Then I waited around the airport f...

The Sound of Music - Asia tour 2008: Macau - the final days

The Sound of Music - Asia tour 2008. Thursday, September 4, 2008. Macau - the final days. Written on Aug. 23). I am sitting in the Philippine airport wishing the "free public wifi" network actually worked. Until then, I'll write up my blog and get ready to post it later. Our run in Macau was fantastic! They were so nice and helped us find a store to buy party favors for the double birthday party we had that night. The presents - an elegant Chinese robe for James and a new backpack for Greg, to replace hi...

Ni hao! Zachary in Asia!: Arrival in Shenzhen
http://zacharyinasia.blogspot.com/2008/07/arrival-in-shenzhen.html
Tuesday, July 15, 2008. Today, we flew from Nanning to Shenzhen. Our flight was only one hour, but it takes 12 hours by road. Glad we flew! Shenzhen is just across the border from Hong Kong. Unfortunately, Zachary and I won't be going to Hong Kong because my visa only allows a single entry into China and I would be stuck in Hong Kong! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Our Flight (AAAAAAAAA!) | The Sound of Music - Asia Tour
https://vivianinasia.wordpress.com/2008/03/06/our-flight-aaaaaaaaa
The Sound of Music – Asia Tour. Vivian’s experiences touring as Louisa von Trapp. Laquo; Only a few more days! Countdown: 2 days until rehearsals, 6 days until departure! We just got wind of our flight details – still no official word from Troika though. Apparently we are on a 1 am flight to Shanghai, then connecting to Chengdu. The best part: the flight is 16 hrs 20 minutes long, and the airplane does NOT have individual TVs in the seats or outlets to plug in laptops. It’s really happening! On Monday ma...

The Sound of Music - Asia tour 2008. Friday, June 20, 2008. I am back in China as of today, June 20, 2008. It feels familiar, feels right, feels like home! Clearly my past weeks in China have been a positive experience overall. But first: a few words about the time before our return to China:. Who could ask for anything more? The three of us split up so we could do whatever we wanted, and met for dinner in the food court the first evening. This was no ordinary food court: this was amazing! I was in the m...
