I was on the fence about taking a ride. At 130-200 Euros, it definitely pushed my activity budget, but I’m thrilled I went for it. I will never see a sunrise like that again. Tuesday, July 16, 2013. Couldn't have happened in a better race. It was bound to happen some time, but Sunday was the first race I've ever flatted in, in eight years of racing. Not bad odds, really. I went into this race with no expectations. It's my first tri of a season that just isn't as tri-focused as years past. Time: 26:09 (1:44 pace). AG: 6 / 35. Confession: I did not do any transition practice before this race. In fact, I even considered wearing my bike shoes to the mount line. I know! Goal here ...

Saturday, December 29, 2012. 2012 has been a huge year: getting married, getting a PR at Nationals. And again at Lobsterman. Starting a new job, twice! I also topped 700 miles of running this year, despite 10 weeks of not running with the stress fracture. 722 miles to be exact. That's over double the distance I did in 2011. Woohoo.
