December 18, 2013 · 1:17 pm. It’s my favorite time of year! And how can you not be? And speaking of my family, they are the greatest of the blessings I am counting this year. And in true Christmas update fashion, here’s what’s gone on in and around our home this year. Can you believe it…how on earth did that happen? I’m not sure who this little girl is in my home and where my little baby went, but suffice it to say this Kindergartener is blossoming before our eyes and amazing us on a daily basis! Somewha...

Theme by Themes that you like. Elbows are a funny thing. A couch throw pillow kind of love? Covered in safety of sofa and security in the form of. Leftover flank stank and salty roasted potatoes. The familiar soundtrack of familial sleeping,. Of cat and mouse dreams. A boxed-up leftover kind of love. Where you race home against the orange backdrop. And the burn trail of leaves. On Euclid and Baseline. Where you find yourself waking up on Sunday. With olive oil scrambled eggs—shells and all. And smoke sig...

Notes from Guate
Sunday, December 18, 2011. Normal to Me, Incredible to Others. It's hard to believe that I've been home for a month already! 8220;You probably don’t even know what 4G is, do you! 8221; she exclaimed. As a matter of fact, I had no idea). Dad asked me the other day if my host family would ever be able to visit us here. The thought made me stop short. What would Sole, Nando and Emelin think if they walked into our house with wall-to-wall carpeting? What would they think of the comfy sofa and recliner? Unfor...

There and Back Again | A Human's Tale, by Libby Sgambelluri
There and Back Again. A Human's Tale, by Libby Sgambelluri. June 6, 2013. Nothing to do with Volcanoes. Although I have been here for a little over two weeks, and already find myself growing in new and challenging ways, I have had a difficult time sitting down and trying to hash out what exactly has been happening since I arrived here. Each new day has brought with it a wide spectrum of emotions. This was especially true of my first week here. It had my chapstick and sewing kit in it, for goodness sake!
Sharing Senegal
Tuesday, January 16, 2007. Keeping with current trends, I decided to post my final thoughts an entire month after my return. Yes, this was a conscious decision that had nothing to do with the holiday season, the largest snowfall this winter, the general ecstasy of being back home or my incurable tendency to procrastinate. Totally deliberate. Absolutely. Do I miss it? Posted by Libby @ 1:41 AM. Thursday, December 14, 2006. Until next time, my Senegal, God willing. Ba beneen yoon, sama Senegal, inchalla.
