Tested WordPress for Android | Librarian Finds

https://librarianfinds.wordpress.com/2012/05/25/tested-wordpress-for-android

Tested WordPress for Android. WordPress it’s a complex tool, it’s like the back of a digital SLR but that doesn’t work on a phone. 8211;Matt Mullenweg, on announcing imminent simplified WordPress version, reported by Bobbie Johnson. I believe, though it might only be hope, that Matt was speaking of simplified write/edit interface, for managing content via phone or tablet. No dates though. But back to the point in being here: testing. Grabs and inserts selected text. Much easier than browser based. Easily...

WebSort : easy online card sorting [a review] | Librarian Finds

https://librarianfinds.wordpress.com/2012/05/22/websort-review

WebSort : easy online card sorting [a review]. By UXPunk is an online tool designed for conducting and analysing remote card sorts. Its target market is website architects (or webmasters). Cardsorting aims to help solve the problem of organising a site’s content to meet audience needs and expectations. Now that ambition is an obvious target for this novice bereted librarian, so I went to find out more. The basic idea is simple, as Donna Spencer put it. As outlined at the very inviting website. Labels, De...

Tested upload documents to WordPress.com on Xoom | Librarian Finds

https://librarianfinds.wordpress.com/2012/05/25/tested-upload-documents-to-wordpress-com-with-add-media-on-xoom

Tested upload documents to WordPress.com on Xoom. Short answer: Only possible via email, which is easy to enable via the xoom. Long answer, with lots of switching between app, dashboard and email, for those who might be curious:. Second and third in Paul Boag’s list of functionality typically required in content management software. Refer to managing additional ‘assets’ such as documents. As it is apparently not yet possible to attach or upload a document with. 8230; shifting back to dashboard to try att...

More, NextPage tags and named anchors | Librarian Finds

https://librarianfinds.wordpress.com/2012/05/28/more-nextpage-named-anchor

More, NextPage tags and named anchors. This page is subject to frequent change. I had a page with References at the bottom. I don’t want References to get in between my call to action and Comments – and most people don’t want to read them anyway. So I thought I could use the nextpage feature to shift References to a “second” page of the same post. Great, but then the named anchor jumps stopped working eg say I refer to a footnote. Clearly split pages change the url… but how? That some academic readers.

Tested WordPress Dashboard on Xoom (and post by email) | Librarian Finds

https://librarianfinds.wordpress.com/2012/05/28/tested-wordpress-dashboard-on-xoom-and-post-by-email

Tested WordPress Dashboard on Xoom (and post by email). This test focussed on content management beyond publishing pages or posts. Namely, managing tags, categories, contributor permissions and user interaction from the Dashboard. All can be done quite easily, after pinch expanding the view to access the buttons which are really too small on the tablet. Thanks to Edward Kim’s No Root Screenshot It. I have pictures to share. I am additionally trying this post by email. How it looked before I sent it:.

Librarian Fails | Celebrating The Ways We Fail And The Lessons We Learn

Celebrating The Ways We Fail And The Lessons We Learn. Final Review: Wikipedia Edit-A-Thons of 2014-15. It has been a few months since I have been able to post. The end of the school year got rather busy. From submitting articles for publications, ending programs, writing reviews, writing new grant applications, and so much more- well, I have finally had a chance to breath and think about this blog again. While this was just our main goal, we found a deeper review very enlightening:. Considering the effo...

Librarian Finds

Project lull, currently blogging at www.micameerbach.com. I have a few ideas in mind for this space, however for the moment my blogging time is happening on my own site: www.micameerbach.com. I find I must mention this because I have been commenting here and there thinking WordPress would link to my own site, but finding it links here. In the meantime, I’d be happy to hear what comes to mind when you read “Librarian finds …”. WordPress as CMS, is it tablet-ready? Xoom is my friend. I had a page with Refe...

The Librarian Fonz

You know, like the ironically cool. Sunday, May 29, 2011. Oot and aboot for Doors Open. This weekend is Doors Open in Toronto. The weather is calling for thunderstorms today, so I went downtown to be a looky-loo yesterday. Although it was mostly overcast, the weather was great. Here's the photographic evidence from my comings and goings, as well as my playing around with some of the features in iPhoto. Inside the bar at the Gladstone Hotel. The front facade of the Drake Hotel. The Canada Life Building.

A Librarian Forever Learning - Blog

A Librarian Forever Learning. Thing #7: DIY - Sharing with Symbaloo (Spring 2016). When I was asked to present at our School Library System's February meeting about the many online resources of the New York Public Library. That I use, I decided I would focused on more of the capabilities of Symbaloo. To assist with my presentation and to share with parents at a Family Enrichment Night that we were having at our school that same week. That would contain a linked Google Doc. I also wanted to embed the webm...

NaLibrarian

An LIS blog written by Kai Li, an MLIS student in Syracuse University. Sunday, December 9, 2012. What I Learnt from My Reference Class (#605thurs). To be honest, I was a subscriber of the "Reference is Dead" theory before I took the reference course this semester. Part of the reasons may be that I was not a person who would ask any question to any librarian in person in a library. Moreover, at least in China (and maybe partly in the US), the low usage of reference service in libraries is a fact. Maybe th...
