NaLibrarian: August 2012
http://librarianforthefuture.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
An LIS blog written by Kai Li, an MLIS student in Syracuse University. Saturday, August 18, 2012. Librarians and MLIS Students (in China). My last blog post. Talked about the idea that you don't have to hold an MLIS degree to become a true librarian. But even after proposing this quite heretic idea, in most of the cases, I do believe it's a really good thing that all the librarians hold an MLIS degree. I certainly don't think so. However, this is a popular mindset among library directors in China. One of...

An LIS blog written by Kai Li, an MLIS student in Syracuse University. Saturday, June 30, 2012. Book Exchanging Fair" in the Public Library of China. As some of you may have known, I used to work in the Public Library of China for almost 5 years before I came to the US this June. For your information, PLC is the leading public library in Beijing, China. Last week, just after I arrived at Syracuse, I attended the "Academic Librarians 2012 Conference". Paradigm he proposed, one of the major points is that ...
NaLibrarian: What I Learnt from My Reference Class (#605thurs)
http://librarianforthefuture.blogspot.com/2012/12/what-i-learnt-from-my-reference-class.html
An LIS blog written by Kai Li, an MLIS student in Syracuse University. Sunday, December 9, 2012. What I Learnt from My Reference Class (#605thurs). To be honest, I was a subscriber of the "Reference is Dead" theory before I took the reference course this semester. Part of the reasons may be that I was not a person who would ask any question to any librarian in person in a library. Moreover, at least in China (and maybe partly in the US), the low usage of reference service in libraries is a fact. Maybe th...

Librarian Finds
Project lull, currently blogging at www.micameerbach.com. I have a few ideas in mind for this space, however for the moment my blogging time is happening on my own site: www.micameerbach.com. I find I must mention this because I have been commenting here and there thinking WordPress would link to my own site, but finding it links here. In the meantime, I’d be happy to hear what comes to mind when you read “Librarian finds …”. WordPress as CMS, is it tablet-ready? Xoom is my friend. I had a page with Refe...
The Librarian Fonz
You know, like the ironically cool. Sunday, May 29, 2011. Oot and aboot for Doors Open. This weekend is Doors Open in Toronto. The weather is calling for thunderstorms today, so I went downtown to be a looky-loo yesterday. Although it was mostly overcast, the weather was great. Here's the photographic evidence from my comings and goings, as well as my playing around with some of the features in iPhoto. Inside the bar at the Gladstone Hotel. The front facade of the Drake Hotel. The Canada Life Building.

A Librarian Forever Learning - Blog
A Librarian Forever Learning. Thing #7: DIY - Sharing with Symbaloo (Spring 2016). When I was asked to present at our School Library System's February meeting about the many online resources of the New York Public Library. To assist with my presentation and to share with parents at a Family Enrichment Night that we were having at our school that same week. That would contain a linked Google Doc. I also wanted to embed the webm...
