Exploring the lovely intersections of books, children and libraries. Monday, September 27, 2010. These are a few of my favorite things. I love love Dog Loves Books. Alfred A. Knopf. Dog enjoys books so much that he opens his very own bookstore. As business is slow, downhearted dog begins to read his wares. "When he read, he forgot that he was waiting. When he read, he forgot he was alone." Finishing one book, he chooses another and thus begins a new adventure. Naturally the themes of Dog Loves Books.

Exploring the lovely intersections of books, children and libraries. Monday, October 11, 2010. What to do when a class comes to you. Working on a presentation for children's librarians on conducting school outreach, I began to think more about hosting classroom visits to the library. I break up all the talking with one or more read alouds. Some of my absolute favorites to share are:. Kindergarten, First and Second Grades. Read It, Don't Eat It. Chickens to the Rescue. Third and Fourth Grades. By Trenton ...

4 years, 9 months ago. In general, I think blogs are a neat way to express thoughts. I have read several different blogs, though I only follow one. Because I have used kidblogs before, setting this blog up wasn’t completely unfamiliar. I look forward to having a reason to blog regularly! 4 years, 10 months ago. The only blog I follow is dooce.com and I started reading that after reading Heather Armstrong’s book It Sucked and Then I Cried: How I had a Baby a Breakdown and a Much Needed Margarita.

The Adventures of Library Heather
The Adventures of Library Heather. In which our heroine decides to pursue a new and exciting career… and write about it. In which I have Blogger’s Block. September 25, 2016. It’s been about three weeks since I’ve blogged and that’s mostly because I have used up all of my writing ability (and creativity) on class assignments. I’ve had several librarian-ish thoughts, but none that seem to flow easily onto the page… or computer screen, as the case may be. My previous faculty mentor (with whom I also got alo...
