Now's your chance. you have until December 4th. Home number 4 - there's a print shop on the first floor and our apartment is upstairs. Some nearby fields - I love this country. Life in africa in miniature. Sunday, June 8, 2008. New Century Bilingual School. The school program was a great experience and I was really glad I was able to go. All the different classes and various school groups gave performances- choir, dance classes, debate teams, etc. The traditional dances were my favorites. It's amazing to see four and five year olds move like that! I have some pretty cute video clips. New Century Bilingual School. Awards- I had to leave before this portion of the program. View m...

Life in africa in miniature. Saturday, February 13, 2010. A picture post - where I live and work. The driveway of the compound where I live - looking up toward the main street. The front of my apartment - my door's on the top left. Looking at the kitchen from the living area. My" desk - with a view of the hangar floor. Cool pictures of the hanger. Wow, you get your own desk! We all have to share one at SAMAIR. Does it get just crazy hot there? How far is your drive into work? 14 February, 2010 01:42.

Ann&Chris in Cameroon: O Canada

http://africayear.blogspot.com/2008/11/o-canada.html

Sunday, November 2, 2008. Well, the ever-fabulous Kerry was pretty much the event mastermind, and directed us all in producing an impressive feast! The first step: we cleared all the furniture out of Kerry's apartment and cobbled together a looong table, bringing in chairs, tables, and dishes from other apartments until there was enough for all. Lots of neighbors worked together to prepare all those delicious Thanksgiving foods everyone loves, and laid them on the table. A few people arrived. Everyone wa...

Ann&Chris in Cameroon: November 2007

http://africayear.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html

Friday, November 30, 2007. Wednesday, November 28, 2007. We saw a little red motorcycle at the hangar that is actually two-wheel drive; one of the pics above shows the additional drive chain on the front wheel. The wheels are fuel reservoirs. SIL is experimenting with this vehicle for use in the field; Ray told us it's narrow enough to ride down a footpath in the jungle, can climb anything, and is buoyant enough to float across rivers. Tuesday, November 27, 2007. It was not a power outage as we’d t...

Friday, February 29, 2008. Its about 3pm on Friday afternoon. Its another quiet day here for us,. And we walked up to CTC here to use the internet about an hour ago. Taxis are running again, and we hear from our friends that things are. Getting back to normal. The US embassy is suggesting people leave the. Country if they can, but what we hear from friends on the ground here is. That it looks like things are settling down, so perhaps the embassy errs. Managed to get in today, since the taxis are running.

Ann&Chris in Cameroon: Milestones

http://africayear.blogspot.com/2008/10/milestones.html

Sunday, October 26, 2008. Well friends, the past couple weeks have included a few milestones, and what better way to celebrate than with a blog post? A blog post about all the ways I've already celebrated, that is.) First off, I said goodbye to Karen's lovely apartment. Another person was scheduled to occupy it in mid-October, so I knew I'd need to vacate the fine place where Chris and I spent our last few months together in Cameroon. Also in the days before vacating the apartment, I hosted a delightful ...

Ann&Chris in Cameroon: April 2008

http://africayear.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html

Tuesday, April 29, 2008. More photos from up north. Here are more photos from our time up north last week, in the Extreme North Province of Cameroon, near the city of Maroua. The trip was to visit granaries in villages participating in RELUFA's food sovereignty program. A granary, and a Presbyterian volunteer. Those sacks are 100 or possibly 120 kilos. The granaries we saw stored millet, sorghum, rice and corn. One of the men who welcomed us. People dressed up for our visits, especially the women. There ...

Life in a French Pantry

Life in a French Pantry. Wednesday, February 5, 2014. We haven't had a lot of snow this winter, more or less bitterly cold. So when we do have snow I become quite obsessed with running outside to take photographs. Here are a few pictures from around the neighborhood after our latest little dumping of snow. Wednesday, February 05, 2014. Tuesday, February 4, 2014. I hate winter sun. But I love the colors of a late winter's afternoon. To me the color says "quiet.". Be the first to comment! Cheers to one and all! I would've already blogged about another birthday celebration at a ridiculously.
