Malaika in Africa: 4 July 2013: Happy Independence Day to Egypt?

Thursday, July 04, 2013. 4 July 2013: Happy Independence Day to Egypt? Egypt did not/does not have the proper institutions in place necessary for a problem-free democratic political transition. Surely. And yet I am saddened that Egyptians have lost their chance to collectively express their displeasure with Moursy and remove him from power democratically. Could they have done it? Would the Brotherhood have conceded defeat if, indeed, the popular vote was against their candidate? At at Bodbe. The chur...

Tuesday, July 19, 2011. A few photos of our summer adventures:. Not a great photo but this is of North Beach, Maryland- a great Chesapeake Bay beach only 1.5 hrs away. We went with our great friends the Wilks family and the blob you see in the water is Nate with Yumi riding on his back. We frequently meet Nate for lunch at the nearby Reston Town Center. Can you spot Yumi? With the addition of an infant carrier in the grocery cart, Yumi has been promoted. Yumi and Emi both ADORE Ayame. We had a great day!

Dan and Courtney Archer. A sheer taste of awesome that we, as the Archer family, are. Friday, July 27, 2012. Summer 2012 (So Far.). Well, I think I can say, without fail, that we should receive the worst blogger award. I think I can also say, without fail, that I say this at the beginning of ALL of my posts because I allow way too much time to go between posts… I’d LOVE to be more on top of blogging, but I guess all we can do is our very best, lol… Better late than never, yes? If you like it, I hope you&...

Courtney and Dan Archer. Friday, December 2, 2011. I had my mom and sister over for Thanksgiving this year. It was our first year hosting it at our own home and the first time I cooked for Thanksgiving! I was definitely not a fan of digging around for the bags of innards, but hey, you do what you gotta do, right? Of course, my.

On the inside, I'm a poet.: December 2008
http://mohnicue.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
On the inside, I'm a poet. Monday, December 29, 2008. So, we did this really cool thing! We had a 3D ultrasound done at 30 weeks 4 days and could see little Lealou's face. And what's this? A smile on my little girl? This image is created with soundwaves, so it's slightly distorted, but a pretty good representation of what she looks like. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I can communicate badly in French and just slightly better in English. I'm married with no kids unless you count my 110 lb. dog, Andy.

I wish I could give credit to the chef but alas- I don't know her name! She is the friend of my friend Christine- who threw a great one year birthday party for her baby girl Addison. Tuesday, July 02, 2013. 2 July 2013: Poor Chechnya. My post today, alas, will be brief. I will be rising early tomorrow so as to attend the Egyptian Coptic service early tomorrow morning with the hope of gaining greater understanding of the Coptic migration to Georgia. Visited the restaurant at which we will eat our closing feast on Saturday (pictures on Facebook reflect the view from the restaurant balcony). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Friday, July 05, 2013. 5 July 2013: Fajitas and Jazz in Tbilisi. Be moving abroad in 2014, so I figured it would make the best sense to enroll in GLOA 710 this summer. The fact that it would take place in Eastern Europe was, for me, and added bonus. Are always dramatic and heavy. That matches my impression of the two Georgian movies I have seen- "Repentance" and "Street Days." "Street Days" dealt with a grave topic (drug addiction) but was fast-paced and, at times, humorous.
