LinGin: LinGin Comes From Behind in the Oxford Race
http://lingin244.blogspot.com/2012/09/lingin-comes-from-behind-in-oxford-race.html
A 1967 Alberg 30, its crew and their adventures. Sunday, September 16, 2012. LinGin Comes From Behind in the Oxford Race. The weather for the 58th annual race to Oxford, MD looked great for the race down. Sunny skies and 15 kts out of the north. LinGin just had her bottom done for the first time in 3 years, so she was ready and so was the crew. I jumped under LinGin to wipe down the bottom. It is so smooth now that a washcloth did the job. Beautiful! Fortunately, once LinGin's engine got going, she was r...
LinGin: LinGin Takes 1st in the 73rd Annual PSA Overnight
http://lingin244.blogspot.com/2012/06/lingin-takes-1st-in-73rd-annual-psa.html
A 1967 Alberg 30, its crew and their adventures. Tuesday, June 19, 2012. LinGin Takes 1st in the 73rd Annual PSA Overnight. Glen, Scott and I had a great time racing this weekend. Scott was aboard for the first time in a long time due to moving across town and becoming a landlord. It was an important race for us; Argo beat us in the NOOD and to St. Mikes. We were feeling the heat in the High Point standings! At the first mark, we lead the A30 fleet. Argo rounded 11 minutes after us. Frankly, we w...Durin...

A 1967 Alberg 30, its crew and their adventures. Wednesday, June 19, 2013. Longest PSA Overnight Race Makes for Great Racing. Many years, the PSA Overnight could have been called the PSA Late Evening race. Not this year, though. We finished around 0540 and I can't remember finishing after 0200.and I've been doing this race for 25 years! And we traded places with Windswept and Argo at least twice during the race! A 1967 Alberg 30, its crew and their adventures. Thursday, June 02, 2011. WNR Race 6: Success! And decided to keep heading for the line. I drove for the start and amazingly we we had about 6 minutes to the start when we arrived at the line. Sweet! We put in a tack or two and at the final run to the line were able to keep Harry from barging and Jonathan was far enough down the line that couldn't pinch us out. We had the best start we've had all year. Sweet! Looking at the scores this morning, it looks lik...

A 1967 Alberg 30, its crew and their adventures. Tuesday, August 23, 2011. A Wednesday Night Race 1,200 Times Faster Than Normal. Brian Palmer. He's a great guy and all that, but he's also a camera geek! That means we have cool shots from the top of the mast. We have cool shots like the famed crab riding a jellyfish. (We're still not sure how he got that shot.). LinGin at warp speed. Here was my brother, Andy's, comment:. The truth kinda hurts! Why We Do Wednesday Night Races. However, the reason I.

Capturing the adventures of racing a true classic on the Chesapeake Bay. Come join us! Monday, June 22, 2015. Victory on Lake Ontario. The Chesapeake A30 Association sent 8 sailors north to try to win the Syronelle Trophy. We had two days of great wind and great one-design sailing, and the victory was on the edge, but in the end we won and the trophy is heading south for the first time in 20 years. And George Dinwiddie and team went 6-5-4-6 out of 7 aboard Le. We were tied with the team of White.

Capturing the adventures of racing a true classic on the Chesapeake Bay. Come join us! Sunday, May 29, 2011. A perfect day: 2011 Annapolis to Miles River Race [LinGin]. Continuing the astoundingly sailor-friendly weather. After Bloody Point and the reach to the second mark we popped the chute and sailed in a relatively clear lane until the last turn. We two-tacked in increasing breeze up the Miles River and took the gun. Thursday, May 26, 2011. 2011 WNR Race 4: Finally, a course that isn't A1. The last l...

Thursday, July 17, 2008. Cooler Phase 4: The Drain. Drain fitting close-up. You can see the remains of the masking tape I used to protect the fitting while caulking. Drain fitting seen from the top of the cooler. Trap and tailpipe. I had to grind a little off the front end of the port engine bed in order to make it fit. Close up of trap and tailpipe. Here you can see where the pipe comes out of the cooler and how that geometry all works. Posted by J Bergquist at 10:11 AM. Wednesday, July 16, 2008. Also, ...

Tuesday, August 12, 2008. My gooseneck broke. Ordering a new bracket from Garhauer, but in the meantime, I managed to coddle together a duct-tape-and-bailing-wire fix. 3 5/16" 18 TPI holes with hex cap screws. This should do for a temporary fix until the new bracket arrives. Posted by J Bergquist at 6:14 AM. Cooler Phase 4: The Drain. Cooler Phase 3: Glass. Tuesday, April 29, 2008. Bebe bought me some cockpit cushions for xmas. These are pix of them in action. They are awesome. Stoked! They were made by Chris Ford Yacht Canvas in Annapolis. Oh and this is a sweet shot of the Annapolis sunset that Christina took while she was helping me install winch bases. Nice! Posted by J Bergquist at 11:23 PM. New winch bases are finally done in time for the NOOD regatta. This isn't going to be in order, but I got some pix of the bagging process and stuff as well.

Glen, Garrett, Vlado and I had quite an enjoyable afternoon on the boat. In the middle of the second time around the windward-leeward course, a strong thunderstorm motored through the race course.
