Lisa & Dewey - South East Asia

Lisa and Dewey - South East Asia. Monday, November 28, 2011. For our last days in Burma we returned to Yangon for a couple days. Now confident that we were going to reach the end of our Burmese days without running out of money, we headed back to the big central market for a little souvenir shopping (not the tacky kind). In between the 2000-odd stalls in the central market are a variety of food vendors. Some look more appetizing that others, but they are all full of character. Late at night we arrived in...

Lisa & Dewey - South East Asia: Kalaw, Myanmar

http://lisadeweysea.blogspot.com/2011/11/kalaw-myanmar.html

Lisa and Dewey - South East Asia. Saturday, November 12, 2011. We decided while we were on the bus that we were going to get off the bus early, in a small mountain town named Kalaw (elevation 4356ft), and hike the rest of the way to Inle lake. The bus happened to drop us off right in front of the Golden Lily guesthouse, where we were mobbed by various trekking guides and guesthouses eager to have our business. Trekking is the main (only? Lisa & Dewey - South East Asia: September 2011

http://lisadeweysea.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html

Lisa and Dewey - South East Asia. Saturday, September 24, 2011. Patong to Koh Phi Phi. We ventured down to the beach, but it was very windy. Somehow (even after our 4-hour mid-afternoon nap) we were still tired, and not really feeling the Patong night-life, so we headed back for a good nights’ sleep. The next morning, we booked a flight to Bali, and a ferry to Koh Phi Phi (weren’t really feeling Patong, or the weather) and then we rented a scooter ($6 a day! During one of the longest heavy-rain spells we...

Lisa & Dewey - South East Asia: Inle Lake, Myanmar

Lisa and Dewey - South East Asia. Monday, November 14, 2011. Inle Lake, Myanmar. A pagoda near the edge of the river in downtown Naungshwe. Nyaungshwe is a neat little grid down on the edge of Inle Lake with a well established tourism scene. As a result prices are significantly higher ($3-$6 for dinner! But there are more options as well. We enjoyed our first pizza since leaving home, and we were impressed. They actually had a wood-fired stone oven and the pizza was good. On our third day in Nyaungshwe o...

Lisa and Dewey - South East Asia. Monday, November 7, 2011. Of the bus was cargo, and they had even modified the bus so that the seats were a little higher up (towards the roof) and a little closer together so that you had maximal cargo room, minimal knee space and they could even put boxes (or in this case, buckets) under. Typical water buffalo-drawn cart along the main road in Hsipaw. A surprising sight in Myanmar. The. National League for Demoncracy. 65279; We did a quick tour of the main street and a...

lisadgalindo | A great WordPress.com site

A great WordPress.com site. Here’s me…. 2012 Kayaking Kansas River. September 19, 2012. There are great things about the Kansas River! It is a little hard to find public accesses along the Kansas River, but once you get on there are great places to camp and explore. This summer the water was low, at max about 3 1/2 feet deep? That’s my estimate. After about 15 or so miles the first day, we found a sandbar and set up camp. I finally used my very tiny, camp stove and it worked just fine! September 19, 2012.

Young Adult Literature Lover

A Bit About Me. Rating Scale for Reviews. Tuesday, June 18, 2013. Dare You To by Katie McGarry. A blurb from the author's webpage. Ryan Stone is the town golden boy, a popular baseball star jock-with secrets he can't tell anyone. Not even the friends he shares everything with, including the constant dares to do crazy things. The craziest? Asking out the Skater girl who couldn't be less interested in him. Beth and Ryan definitely seem at odds in the beginning. Beth is cast as an outsider from the beginning.
