Stash Acquisition 3 | String Emporium
https://stringemporium.wordpress.com/2011/04/16/stash-acquisition-3
Just another fibre obsession. Acquiring stash becomes extremely easy when in the same week your LYS begins carrying Dream in Color. Yeah, that’s right, all three in the SAME WEEK! Joan, you’re killing me lol! I picked up a skein of DiC Smooshy. As well as a skein of Fleece Artist Sea Wool. I’ve worked with these yarns in the past and absolutely love them. I think both of these are destined to become shawlettes, at least on will be 22.5 Degrees. Random Display of Affection. Apr 16, 2011. Apr 17, 2011.

Handspun | String Emporium
https://stringemporium.wordpress.com/2011/04/13/handspun
Just another fibre obsession. I finally finished spinning that orange fibre that I began so many weeks ago. It is from Ashford, a wool silk 80/20 blend that I’ve kind of become obsessed with. With this batch I was hoping to get a worsted weight because I had 8 oz of fibre to work with. I think if measured what I ended up with would at least average that (with the thick and think bits) so I’m pretty pleased. Tamara, these shots are just for you lol! Apr 13, 2011. Sav, this is Really Good. I am serious.

Just another fibre obsession. Getting My Geek On. I assure you they are not blurry in real life but all attempts to capture their essence resulted in fuzz😛. Now I’m in full geek mode because in honour of Zombie Jesus weekend, the Space Channel is playing a marathon of season four of Doctor Who! So of course I’m taking this opportunity to work on my season twelve (don’t let the season numbers hurt your brain, long story) totally authentic replica scarf. I’m about fit to bust! A Different Kind of String.

Thursday, June 3, 2010. Pattern Parade - Intro. So many garments and scarfs and shawls and hats are developed just by picking a stitch pattern. It is how they are combined that makes the big difference. Knowing how a stitch will make up certainly helps to get the mind thinking in the various ways that they could be used. With so few readers I hope you'll excuse me in this self-indulgent venture and enjoy your visit to this site. Maybe it will challenge you in some way. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Pattern Parade: Pattern Parade - 2
http://knitflitpatternparade.blogspot.com/2010/06/pattern-parade-2.html
Saturday, June 5, 2010. Pattern Parade - 2. Pattern - 14 stitches 1 by 16 rows. Sample - 25 stitches 2 by 32 6 rows. Very textured, 3 dimensional patterns of offsetting leaf columns. Curves a lot on all sides. YO forms the center line in the bottom half of the leaf and the decreases are the center stitch in the top half of the leaf. Doesn't lay as nice as #1 especially for the reverse side. Knit 24 May 2010. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Pattern Parade - 4.

Saturday, June 5, 2010. Pattern Parade - 1. First pattern in the book so will do a few at least in order. They are grouped in categories so may get tired of the category and will have to mix them up. Pattern - 16 stitches 1 by 21 rows. Sample 25 stitches 2 by 50 6 rows. Very textured, 3 dimensional patterns of offset leaves with 2 reverse stockinette stitch between to "push" the leaf forward. Curves a lot on all sides. Not fully reversible but it does look fairly nice on the wrong side. Knit 16 May 2010.

Tuesday, June 22, 2010. Pattern Parade - 4. Pattern - 18 stitches by 24 rows. Sample - 36 stitches 2 by 48 6 rows. Very plain, "quiet" pattern with lots of blank space based on centre stem of holes and decreases done on outer edge for bottom half of the leaf. Used as basis of several other patterns to come it would appear where the designs are closer together. Would look nice as the border of a garment knit plain beyond 3 or 5 bands of the leaves. Use as a transition between other patterns. First pattern...
