Life, Love, Literature. Books & Reading. 31 Authors Children Love. Words on Wednesday – Ingratitude. November 2, 2016. In the run up to November I’ve seen several great articles on gratitude. Then I read a related quote by Kimberly Wagner in Fierce Women. I really want to focus on gratitude, not just in November but all year long. I’ll be sharing more thoughts on gratitude and giving thanks this month. If you have a favorite thanksgiving related quote, I’d love to hear it. Current Book to Review. By Gary...

Hey Friends, my family is busy at the Great Homeschool Convention this weekend so I won’t be sharing a new family game night idea this week for your family to try. But I thought a quick review and index page of all the games we’ve mentioned so far might be helpful, so here we go! 1 Card Games with Playing Cards. 7 Settlers of Catan. 8 Ticket to Ride. 10 Duck Duck Bruce. 11 The Little Prince.

Life, Love, Literature. Books & Reading. 31 Authors Children Love. Words on Wednesday – Illustrator Wisdom. October 26, 2016. I recently finished reading a biography of Garth Williams. It wasn’t incredibly deep, and there is still much of his life that is mysterious, but I appreciated the look at one of America’s most beloved illustrators. (And he’s definitely one of my personal favorites.). What made him such a successful illustrator? I think it was this:. By Elizabeth Wallace and James Wallace. On the ...

Life, Love, Literature. Books & Reading. 31 Authors Children Love. What to Read in June: Favorite Fictional Fathers. June 13, 2016. June is a month for weddings (our anniversary is in June! But it’s also a month to honor our fathers. Which made me think about my favorite fictional fathers. So many children’s books feature orphans, with dead or absent fathers. The good guys tend to stand out. These may be fictional (though some are based on real people), but here are a few of my favorite dads from books:.

Thursday, May 15, 2014. Hey Jude. Sometimes Mamas Make Mistakes (The Four Month Edition). Does he know the songs? Why on earth didn't I know about this? PS One of my favorite books is by Judith Viorst, and when you are old enough to not be freaked out by it, I will read it to you. It's about a little boy whose mama tells him that there aren't monsters all around, but he isn't sure if he should believe her because sometimes mamas make mistakes. And they do. PPS There are no such things as monsters.

Tuesday, March 31, 2015. I hope you'll allow me another previously unpublished blog post, originally from August of 2013. Is also on this list). I love every song on this album with equal affection with the exception of the song The Coral Castle. Sorry, Andrew, it's just weird and dark sounding, and I don't think I will ever learn to love it or even understand it) I even have the song Rise and Shine. As my alarm clock for Sunday mornings. So appropriate. I love this album. It isn't often that I find myse...

Tuesday, June 24, 2014. This Time Last Year. It feels like a thousand years ago. I am now a mom. I live in Delaware. I work at a daycare teaching three year olds. We are working to help plant a church near Philadelphia. Some days it feels like our ten months in Tennessee wasn't real. Someone asked me recently, "Why all the moving around? And so I guess that's where I am tonight. I am just sad. I miss all of the things that could have been but never were. I miss the sweet friends I met along the way.

Every person, all the events of your life are there because you have drawn them there. What you choose to do with them is up to you. Richard Bach. Every person, all the events of your life are there because you have drawn them there. What you choose to do with them is up to you. Richard Bach. Sâmbătă, 27 iulie 2013. For both Friday and Saturday, I attended an amazing conference, SocialMediaCamp 2012. SMC is meant to inspire businesses and people to use social media and engage with the online community; and it did. In two short days, I listened to some of the brightest social media experts, who all shared and explored different aspects of social media tools. The speakers included Chris Brogan, the New York Times Best Seller and Kris Krug. I left Kris’s presentation with a different perspective on how to process...
