The Eclectic -- Greg Monfils: No-Man's-Land of Aging

http://theeclecticgreg.blogspot.com/2012/03/no-mans-land-of-aging.html

The Eclectic - Greg Monfils. Follow The Eclectic Greg. Tuesday, March 6, 2012. Today, I bought a newspaper from the paper guy in the subway (BART here in the SF Bay Area). "How's it going? I asked as I handed over my paper and a dollar. Can't complain. My old bones still strong," he stated firmly. I replied instinctively wanting to form some sort of fleeting community with this strong older man. Yeah, we done seen it all and come out unscathed and unburdened," he offered. Yessir, that's true," I confirmed.

The Eclectic - Greg Monfils. Follow The Eclectic Greg. Friday, January 13, 2012. Faith Music: The Substance of Songs Hoped For. I was asked by a magazine to create a CD mix informed by the theme of "Religion" and to write about the mix. The Substance of Songs Hoped For. And that’s why I’m an atheist. Because of the goddamn music. Bluegrass gospel evokes an ecstasy, too, but unlike African-American gospel, bluegrass compels me to sit perfectly still, shivering. January 26, 2012 at 7:49 AM. The Eclectic -- Greg Monfils: Does the Earth Notice Us?

http://theeclecticgreg.blogspot.com/2012/04/does-earth-notice-us.html

The Eclectic - Greg Monfils. Follow The Eclectic Greg. Sunday, April 15, 2012. Does the Earth Notice Us? We’re so special. Relative to other organisms, we are. Special. Yet the earth, as an ecosystem, doesn’t even begin to privilege us over everything else. We are not “remarkable” to the earth because the earth does not remark. The earth has no consciousness like a whale swimming next to our boat, seemingly curious about us. We may believe there’s a god. God or no, the earth will not die. Cruella de Vill...

The Eclectic - Greg Monfils. Follow The Eclectic Greg. Friday, November 12, 2010. Cruella de Ville Doesn't Read Fairy Tales. I'm always amazed at how well people know fairy tales because I have no memory of anyone ever reading them to me. Maybe my folks did, at least my mom, but I don't remember it and I don’t see that being part of my. Mom’s maternal repetoire. Too much ghastliness for her tastes and I’m damn sure her. Mother never read them to the little girl who became my mom. So she read me the story...

The Eclectic - Greg Monfils. Follow The Eclectic Greg. Saturday, November 3, 2012. Liberal Racism vs. Conservative Racism:. White conservatives, the political ancestors of whom defended cultural racism and 400 years of institutionalized racism with slavery and Jim Crow and segregation, become apoplectic when it anyone even hints at the possibility of racism coursing through their healthy bodies politic. Livy Love

Thursday, August 6, 2015. I have been waiting a long time to finally write about my weight loss after baby. I am 2 weeks post partum and feel really great! I am very motivated to get back into shape. While in the hospital, I let myself eat whatever I wanted from the hospital cafeteria, which in all honesty isn't that horrible. I did let myself have a few slices of cheesecake and some cookies, but I knew once I got home, I wanted to start monitoring what I ate. I tried on my size 12 jeans and they fit!

Livy Love - Livy's Journey

The Beginning of our Journey. Then, finally, after being told I'd have a C-section in the morning after my 4th admit to L&D, my body flew into labor. Everyone, from us, my family and doula, to the doctors and nurses were so surprised when Olivia was born after only a few contractions and pushing! She went from screaming to smiling and we were so thrilled. On Livy's first Christmas Day, I gave her and Troy a gift.the news that we were going to be having our second child! And things get Worse. Livy also be...

A place for me to display my love of nail polish, anything girly, and a little look into my life. And on top of all that, I'm a southern girl who loves her Arkansas Razorbacks. Friday, June 7, 2013. I just wanted to make a quick post today sharing what's been on my nails for about a week now. I got a shellac French manicure, which is one of my favorite things to have on my nails. It always goes with everything and it lasts forever! I just love the look of a classic French manicure. Posted by Olivia C.

The Lyman's Life.

Tuesday, April 7, 2015. Easter was a quiet, stay at home kind of a day because of General Conference. The children hunted for eggs in the morning and my mom and I cooked ham, au gratin potatoes, and cream pies together for dinner. We got all dressed up and went to the church to watch the last session of conference, as per tradition.but somehow no one thought to snap a picture! I suppose we're off to a good start. Tuesday, March 17, 2015. Top O' The Morning To You. But I'd say we're all pretty darn lucky.
