Saturday, 23 May 2015. Of May we had the Junior School cross-country. We ran hard in the mud and puddles; some of us even ran up and down Cycle Mountain! We decided to tell our cross-country stories. We have done this in two ways. Firstly we panned our writing and then we wrote our story. We used our senses to help add some details to our writing. We thought about what we could see, what we could hear, what we could feel and how we felt in our heart. Add details to my writing. Create a code to tell.

Thursday, 25 June 2015. I am a scientist. We have been learning to think like scientists this term. Learning all about plants has helped us to become scientists. We have been asking lots of questions and trying to answer them. We found out that plants breathe and drink water. We found the best way to germinate a seed – seeds need water to germinate but the plant needs water, soil and sun to grow well. Make predictions (think about what is going to happen). Observe and record what happens. I share my ideas.

Wednesday, 29 April 2015. We have been learning all about ANZAC Day and what it means. We have read some stories and have done loads of thinking and talking. On Monday we learned about Poppies. On Tuesday we listened to the Last Post. On Wednesday Mish came to visit us in her uniform. Wow, she looked very fancy. Thank you Caleb for sharing your mum with us. On Thursday we played spinners (2up). This is a game they played during the war. It was cool, and a bit sad, to hear the Last Post in the assembly.

Monday, 3 August 2015. I n High 5 we are exploring multiplication. We created our own sky scrapers to help. The buildings have windows in rows, each row had the same number of windows. We then worked out how many windows there are in each buuilding and used our sky scrapers to create number stories. Daniel and Isaac are adding windows.
