Authentic Customer Service: May 2005
http://authenticcustomerservice.blogspot.com/2005_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 13, 2005. There I go, annoying the counter person again. I went into a store today where in the past I have experienced genuine curtness from the counter person. I would definitely go to their competition (who are very friendly and helpful) in a second - and do for big jobs - but, for small jobs, this place is just so much closer. So, she seems to me to be in transition - still caught in some old irritable habits, but really wanting to move to more care for the customer. Thursday, May 05, 2005.

Wednesday, May 04, 2011. Diamonds on the soles of their shoes. I think that tonight i came up with a juicy strategy for staying in a centered, present moment state at work. I can hardly wait to try this tomorrow. Posted by Majo John Madden. The zen of cash register. I'm grateful for seeing this so clearly - and for having a job that right now seems to provide clear and immediate feedback about my internal state. When I am centered in the moment, it's fun and easy; when I am off-center, preoccupied, n...

Authentic Customer Service: August 2008
http://authenticcustomerservice.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 03, 2008. Customer service as improv. Sometimes, when a customer has even a very minor transaction with us, they like to make just a little bit of small talk. And sometimes, when they do this, we have absolutely no idea what the hell they are talking about. And, to whatever extent we can figure out what they are talking about, we may absolutely not care. 8220;Wow.”. What’s a 6-volt battery? It feels like once upon a time I knew. Why is he telling me this? 8220;What’s a 6-volt battery?

Authentic Customer Service: September 2006
http://authenticcustomerservice.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 30, 2006. 8220;I’M DOING ‘JUST RIGHT’”. A stock-in-trade little conversation exchange at the gas station window is to ask people how they are or “are doing”. It was one of these little openers that stimulated the “Keeping It Human” article on my “Authentic Customer Service” web site. ( www.home.earthlink.net/ authenticcustomerservice/. 8221;, etc.) around this writing that I kind of think I need to do whatever I can to push ahead. Posted by Majo John Madden. Authentic Customer Service: June 2005
http://authenticcustomerservice.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 06, 2005. Hospitality: "Welcome to my store". I go to the local public library pretty frequently - in order to work someplace else than where I live, and because the computers there are a lot faster than mine. My style of customer service tends to be more upbeat, a little more towards the enthusiastic side. But today I found myself really admiring this woman's kind of customer service. It may not be exactly as much my style - and I probably could not pull it off quite like her - but ...
