Sunday, November 27, 2011. Moving 15 miles didn't cut it. Thursday, November 17, 2011. Gray discovered the camera a few weeks ago and has been unstoppable since. He loves having me take pictures of the two of us together. You see that hair of mine? Back to Gray. Last night his series of photos was especially cute. I present: "What Gray Cares About.". That last one may be one of my favorite Zan pictures. Tuesday, November 15, 2011. We got a chance to play on construction equipment the other day. So I star...

Sunday, March 25, 2012. And so is the planting bug. Even my girls were bit by it early this year. Yesterday found them outside digging a garden plot in the back driveway. I helped them find a more suitable spot and we dug the sod up. All of the kids - Zander included - helped dig the roots out and make a soft bed for the seeds. Have I mentioned how much Zander's siblings love him? Or how much I love how much they love him? They are really patient with him 'helping' them. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Pleas...

A person's a person, no matter how small. Off the Beaten Path. Laquo; Autumn Wish List. A Walk in the Woods. An oldie but goodie. September 14th, 2013. Kris and Meredith went out earlier in the week by themselves. Kris dropped Meredith off at a friend’s house, and then went on to take our honey supers to have the honey extracted. (He came home with 60 pounds of honey! From a hive we have only had for 4 months! And was thrilled to see the foam rise up and out of the jars. I think she really loved having a...

A person's a person, no matter how small. Off the Beaten Path. Bring on the Fall. September 28th, 2013. We have been outside a lot this month! It was been really nice. The weather has mostly been great up until this past week. I will never get around to blogging about each time, but here are some of the things we have been up to. While we would love for the beautiful weather to stick around, it never does and we have rain gear and are ready for whatever October decides to bring us. A summer’s day. Here a...

A person's a person, no matter how small. Off the Beaten Path. Laquo; Hamilton Hobby Farm. September 21st, 2013. We decided to try the one across the street to start instead. The clue was a little more obvious and even if our GPS didn’t work well we could see even from where we were that there wouldn’t be a lot of options about where it could be, as there were only two trees in the whole field. Finally we got lucky! The high from that find had the girls excited to try again at the first place. The GP...

A person's a person, no matter how small. Off the Beaten Path. Laquo; Bring on the Fall. September 22nd, 2013. We had promised Fiona way back on her birthday that we would go for a pony ride in the summer. With everything else going on, it kept not happening. Finally last week, on the last weekday they were open, it was a gorgeous day and seemed perfect for an outing. We had a delicious lunch outside where we got to watch the goats on the roof, which Coombs is famous for. But it was Fiona’s first time on...

A person's a person, no matter how small. Off the Beaten Path. Laquo; An oldie but goodie. A Walk in the Woods. September 8th, 2013. We kept an eye out for newts or frogs or snakes, all of which we have seen in the past around rotting logs or sunning themselves on the path. We didn’t see any of those today though. We overturned a few rocks to see what kind of insects were hiding underneath. Meredith was very careful to make sure the rocks got turned back over again afterwards. The creek behind us is quit...

All in all, I'm really pleased with my indoor light setup since it allows me to grow these things indoors rather than waiting for the actual warm weather to commence. Hopefully the experiments turn out well. Friday, March 7, 2008. Fluorescent Lights and Your Cat. She now spends a majority of her day basking in t...
