http://twerpatw.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 20, 2012. Allright, I know that I am very behind in my blog, we are actually in Puerto Rico and I’m still writing about what happened in January. I’m trying very hard to catch up. Here goes.Between Carriacou and Union Islands there are two very small ones, permanent sandbars really, called Punaise and Morpion. Morpion has the distinction to have a palm frond parasol on it. We arrived in Union, led by a Boat Boy, in the late afternoon, first stop immigration. On the beach we made friends ...

Saturday, March 31, 2012. Antigua has a sister island which is Barbuda . Barbuda is so flat that you cannot even see it until you have sailed dangerously right up to the beach. It is known for it’s pink sand beaches and it’s huge colony of fregate birds, one of the biggest in the world. We arrived in the evening and it was cold! Friday, March 30, 2012. And there are many other locations here in Dominica where they filmed. All over the lesser Antilles we keep seeing multi masted old time sailing ships....

Twerp: April 2012
http://twerpatw.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 19, 2012. For us the Dominican Republique represented two things (besides the obvious one of discovering a new place) ; we needed to get the boat out and we had to get our new crew guy, Matt. This took us to Boca Chica where we spent ten days on a mooring in the Marina Zar Par. The Marina Zar Par was good because we met alot of people. DRINA, the Australian, Micheal, traveling with his son, Christian, ( a total Johhny Depp look alike) and Christian’s girlfriend, Yolanda. I l...Our last st...

Friday, May 18, 2012. 558 nautical miles or 8 long days. The next day we saw a big herd of dolphins come to play and then.two sharks swimming next to the boat! We saw two more sharks the next day, too. Our whole time in the Atlantic and the Caribbean we only saw one shark, and here we have seen four already. That makes the idea of swimming a bit more daring. PANAMA CITY and BALBOA. He used to hide out in Haiti, too. He was well known for his cruelty. (Are you reading this Lynda? Wednesday, May 2, 2012.

Twerp: November 2011
http://twerpatw.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 23, 2011. After that I set the net to capture the oranges and got a lot! Francois turned the boat in that direction to get a closer look, very cool. We never know what kind of whale it is but this one was easily as long as our boat, 15 to 18 meters. After that Francois turned the boat around to get back on route and Lole went back to her french lesson. Yeah, everyday on a boat is exactly the same. Tuesday, November 22, 2011. Volcanos, Columbus, and movin' on. Tuesday, November 8, 2011.

Wednesday, August 29, 2012. Who has never wanted to come here? The last machine load of laundry I did was in the Galapagos Islands, everything since then has been by hand. I mean EVERYTHING, sheets, towels, dish towels, and clothes. We came into the marina Taina and I did 8 loads of laundry at 8 dollars the load. The dryer is too expensive (as if the washing machines aren’t! Do they come around! Next blog, the blue lagoon and the coral structures. Wednesday, August 15, 2012. But we did arrive to the Tuom...

Thursday, September 27, 2012. These are some photos that I never could publish and now the uploading is do easy I'm including them anyway. A little out of context, but it's still the Society Islands. Here is Francois holding a coconut, an "atomic coconut" the lady called it. They collected it after the nuclear tryouts that France did under Chirac. I think radiation is pretty powerful stuff. It's finally time to return the car and head back to the boat. That was a fine day and now it;s time for a beer.

Twerp: looking for a well
http://twerpatw.blogspot.com/2012/09/looking-for-well.html
Wednesday, September 19, 2012. Looking for a well. The next bay was really quiet and there was a very small port with a gas station. On our charts it wasn't listed what depth it was to get to the gas station so we had to just take a chance and go slow. What stress! There was alot of coral growing on the sides but Francois tied up well and we could finally relax. It was 7 pm. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). All ready to lift anchor and set off. Twerp: Circumnavigating Taha'a
http://twerpatw.blogspot.com/2012/09/circumnavigating-tahaa.html
Thursday, September 27, 2012. The guy turns out to be really nice. He drives us to his hotel where we sign the contract and take possession of the car for the next 8 hours. The island is about 60 kilometers around, quite small really, so we get underway. We're looking for pearls, again, and we want to visit the vanilla plantation. It's finally time to return the car and head back to the boat. That was a fine day and now it;s time for a beer. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Waiting for the right wind.
