A Beautiful Child's Journey Through Hemimegalencephaly. Don’t Be Late For Your Life. On July 25, 2012. Our departure from Florida Hospital for Children. After 22 emotion-filled days and 23 mostly sleepless and lonely nights, we are finally going home! As happy as this prospect makes me, I’ll confess that I also feel a bit of hesitation and anxiety. My daughter is coming home after having had two radical brain surgeries and a shunt placement procedure. And what happens if she does have another seizure?

Friday, April 9, 2010. Where Does the Time Go? I honestly don't know where the time goes. More mysterious to me is how do all these people find the time to post on their blogs nearly every day - surely they don't sleep! Can you tell the outfit she has on here was coordinated by her? I also spent time with my mom. Her Alzheimer's. She and I spent Easter Sunday with Peggy and the girls. Jenny (we call her " Bridezilla. My friend Judy and I went to 2 art nights at Persimmons. We had a great time making ATC's.

Thursday, March 4, 2010. Art and Soul Week. I am starting to recover from the week I spent in glitzy Las. Vegas at the Art and Soul Retreat Workshop. It was a great week and soo. And I took 4 workshops over 4 days. We took the first class with Lisa Kaus. And learned some great acrylic/watercolor painting techniques. What fun! Tuesday, June 15, 2010. Oh my gosh, after teaching for 27 years, I decided to teach some more, but something way different this time! I taught two classes last week at Embellish Boutique. In Pinetop. After getting some great tips from Sally Jean Alexander. At Art and Soul. Some people even went home wearing their creations! Tuesday, August 16, 2011. Another part of the Wisconsin trip was spent with my Brett and Marina. We spent a day in Shawano, fishing, doing "art projects" and making and eating s'mores. We had a great time despite the mosquitoes. The kids were pulling fish out of the lake one after another. We made flag books together and played games. Brett teased us about the number of brownies left and became known as "the brownie liar". With the bride and went water skiing for the first time in about 30 years!

Sunday, June 19, 2011. Today is Father's Day. It's been 3 years since I've been able to wish my dad a happy Father's Day. He had Alzheimer's, but thankfully, always knew who we were. The last time I saw him, I brought him a piece of blueberry pie that I made. It was hard for him to communicate, but I know he really enjoyed that pie! What do I remember about him? Sunday, June 5, 2011. What is it about the mountains that gets me inspired? The fresh air, lack of distraction, blue skies and white fluffy clouds? I don't know, but I have a feeling it's a little bit of everything with an emphasis on lack of distraction. In the past two and a half days, I have made 8 small beeswax collages. Two of. Them are samples for a class that I hope to teach and the others are to sell or give as gifts. Anyway, here are some photos of the collages. Now back to work.

Thursday, August 18, 2011. Finally, I have been taking an online class (Journal 365) with Pam Carriker and I was also able to make it to her class at Art Unraveled! It's been hard being gone so much (and we are leaving again in the morning! After learning all these new and exciting techniques. I come away so inspired.
