Special Features: January 2006
http://specialfeatures.blogspot.com/2006_01_01_archive.html
Thoughts, musings and reviews on cinema and theatre trips, sporting events, concerts and the like. Friday, January 06, 2006. Christmas TV was, on balance, dreadful. From the earth shattering unfunny French and Saunders to the disappointingly tired Two Ronnies Christmas Sketchbook, a poor showcase for the genius of Ronnie Barker displayed in the occasional Porridge repeat. In fact the only half decent Christmas shows were Dr Who. Who steals the show particularly in the first outing. I realise it's been ag...

Special Features: July 2005
http://specialfeatures.blogspot.com/2005_07_01_archive.html
Thoughts, musings and reviews on cinema and theatre trips, sporting events, concerts and the like. Saturday, July 30, 2005. Boy, does this suck. Oops sorry, I've forgotten the convention: start with a witticism or subtle metaphor that ultimately reflects the overall opinion of the piece. Let's try again. Boy, does this suck. This is possibly the worst so-called action movie I've ever seen. Not so much xxx, more zzz. Posted by Paul Campy @ 9:03 pm. Sunday, July 24, 2005. Took the deadly sin theme, Saw.

Special Features: June 2005
http://specialfeatures.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html
Thoughts, musings and reviews on cinema and theatre trips, sporting events, concerts and the like. Tuesday, June 28, 2005. A Thousand Yards (theatre). The aftershow discussion kept three quarters of the packed-in audience in their seats. Impressive writing from a real life photo editor had brought the Great War phenomena of the 'thousand yard stare' right up to date with ethical introspection. Interesting that just last week the BBC introduced new guidelines. On a similar debate. Fame) deserves special m...

Special Features: October 2005
http://specialfeatures.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html
Thoughts, musings and reviews on cinema and theatre trips, sporting events, concerts and the like. Monday, October 03, 2005. I'm glad to have taken a quick peek at the trailer before I played the main feature itself: I quickly realised this was not a film to be watched during lunch and postponed my viewing. As I did, then you'll enjoy this is it reality encroaching on the game or the other way aro. It feels every bit the low budget cult-friendly flick of Cube. Posted by Paul Campy @ 11:09 pm.

Special Features: September 2005
http://specialfeatures.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html
Thoughts, musings and reviews on cinema and theatre trips, sporting events, concerts and the like. Thursday, September 29, 2005. It's been a while since I wrote here. A lull in DVD tarting, a peak in workload and a temporary freeze of my creative juices. The Terminal is one of those from my last batch of DVD rentals: didn't quite get me passionate either way so it's stayed a blog subject with no more than a few lines of thoughts. That's not to say it's not a good film; it is. London, United Kingdom.

3 miles deadside: What's in a name?
http://3milesdeadside.blogspot.com/2005/11/whats-in-name.html
Thursday, November 03, 2005. What's in a name? I had planned to escape for long enough to fit in a sneaky lesson but it wasn't to be. It would probably have been easier to fly to the office today but perhaps I'm getting ahead of myself! In the absence of a lesson log I decided I'd explain the blog title. realising too late that it might sound rather morbid and foreboding, particularly with some of the background to my previous post. For the non-pilots among you, deadside. Posted by Paul Campy @ 10:50 am.

3 miles deadside: November 2005
http://3milesdeadside.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 13, 2005. And so we return to circuits: just like those at the gym but more exhausting for body and mind. These are to hone your discipline and skills around the airfield. When coming into land you don't just aim for the runway, you have to join a well-defined, height-regulated and Air Traffic Control (ATC)-controlled pattern. Circuits helps to speed that process up by taking off, joining the circuit and coming into land before, without stopping, powering up again and taking off. Still, ...
