Looking Back, Moving Forward

Looking Back, Moving Forward. Wednesday, November 8, 2017. November 8, 2017. It's Geema and Spencer! It's been so much fun to get to know this little spitfire. He is just so funny. Today is the 34 year anniversary of my original breast cancer diagnosis. I've written the story in the past (and shared it to FB today) so I'll leave it there. I'm forever thankful to still be 'here' and to keep moving forward. A couple of friends have been to visit from sunny CA, and Friday Joey is coming for a brief stay!

Looking Back, Moving Forward: September 2013

http://lookingbackmovingforward.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html

Looking Back, Moving Forward. Tuesday, September 24, 2013. Today is Genie's birthday. And in just a few weeks she will receive a wonderful gift, her new baby boy, Spencer. Three boys, don't I know what that feels like! I wish her joy and peace and hope that she cherishes any full nights of sleep she can get before this little sweetie arrives. Carter is such a blonde boy, Henry with his dark hair, it will be fun to see what Spencer will bring with him. Sharon T in Napa. Sunday, September 22, 2013. I'm loo...

Looking Back, Moving Forward: Wholey Moley

http://lookingbackmovingforward.blogspot.com/2014/07/wholey-moley.html

Looking Back, Moving Forward. Saturday, July 12, 2014. As I live in my cute little hippie house, I am so thankful I have hardwood floors, so I can scoot around on my computer chair and my sewing chair. Poor L Jay is trying his best. And I appreciate the effort. Enough said,. I had some great plans for Jillian and Ethan for their visit. We will get to visit with them for a few days if the drive north works out. Enough for now. I should try to sleep. Sharon T in Napa. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Looking Back, Moving Forward: Happy Fall

http://lookingbackmovingforward.blogspot.com/2013/09/happy-fall.html

Looking Back, Moving Forward. Sunday, September 22, 2013. I have always loved the Fall. And lately I have been really, really, really missing Ethan. This photo is 3 years old, but that is the charming, happy face of pure joy that I miss. This will be my second Fall living in the Napa Valley. It is definitely different than the PNW. Right now the Harvest is on, and soon it will be the Crush. In the mornings when I open the door I can actually smell the scent of the grapes in the air. Sharon T in Napa.

Looking Back, Moving Forward: The Front Yard in December

http://lookingbackmovingforward.blogspot.com/2013/12/the-front-yard-in-december.html

Looking Back, Moving Forward. Wednesday, December 11, 2013. The Front Yard in December. Good afternoon. I thought that after I showed parts of the back yard, I'd do the front yard this time. And then I'll post the same views in the spring, summer and fall. That way I'll have a record of the yard throughout a year. This is the right upper corner of the yard within the fence. I have put my two small wooden yard chairs in the garden, which you can see if you click on the photo to enlarge it. From the gate, ...

The Quilted Doghouse: Its a New Year

http://quilterdog.blogspot.com/2011/01/its-new-year.html

A kinda quilty place. Tuesday, January 11, 2011. Its a New Year. It's cold. We're supposed to get snow tonight. I stocked up on all the essentials and we are ready. Luckily, I have some UFOs I can work on to keep me busy. I was encouraged to list 12 UFOs I hope to finish this year, so this is what I came up with:. 1) Christmas Pineapples. From the Common Threads swap, I have a pile of lovely blocks that need to be set and then quilted. 6) Cha Cha Chickens. Love the chickens! 11) Stehekin Quilt. A pre...

The Quilted Doghouse: I'm alive!

http://quilterdog.blogspot.com/2010/10/im-alive.html

A kinda quilty place. Sunday, October 24, 2010. Okay, it's been over a year since I last blogged. I admit - I haven't been very attentive to this process. So much to catch up on. The rest of 2009 was rather uneventful as I recall. 2010 picked up a bit. My mother passed away in March. On her wedding anniversary. I think she planned it that way. Anyway, it's been a pain dealing with her estate and all the various problems she left behind. I think she planned that too. Olivia turned 7 in May. 7! So, today I...

The Quilted Doghouse: Hold on to your hat, Karen!

http://quilterdog.blogspot.com/2011/02/hold-on-to-your-hat-karen.html

A kinda quilty place. Monday, February 14, 2011. Hold on to your hat, Karen! Wow - two blogs in two DAYS! Ehlana was perplexed by the cloth diapers I gave her (best burp cloth-changing pads-wipe ups I can think of! And she was a little underwhelmed by the quilt, but she's young, not a quilter (so she has no idea the time and energy involved), and oh-so-ready to be done with the whole pregnancy thing. Poor thing was just exhausted by the time we got to the present opening. It was the neighbors.

http://quilterdog.blogspot.com/2011/02/baby-quilt-time.html

A kinda quilty place. Sunday, February 13, 2011. Karen reports she is done quilting the auction quilt. I can't wait to see it tomorrow! I need to get a binding on it asap and photograph it for the auction committee. Wayyy cool! Kevin and I are celebrating valentines (gasp! With an early lunch somewhere on Monday. I have to be at the school in Olivia's class for the Valentines Day Party at 1:15 or so to set up. A few decorations, a quicky game and food. What more can they ask for? Labels: baby quilt time.

The Quilted Doghouse: Last Call

http://quilterdog.blogspot.com/2009/07/last-call.html

A kinda quilty place. Sunday, July 12, 2009. Eleanor is the lady on the left and my aunt Shirley is on the right in the lovely purple jacket. All in all, it was lovely. I cried alot more than I thought I would, and am still a little misty around the edges. But a fitting tribute. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). For a good read:. The Quilted Doghouse: Shop Hoppin Till We Drop

http://quilterdog.blogspot.com/2009/07/shop-hoppin-till-we-drop.html

A kinda quilty place. Sunday, July 05, 2009. Shop Hoppin Till We Drop. I have finally recovered enough to share our shop hop experience! This is a major event up here. There were 57 shops on the hop (yes - all within a 4 hour drive from my house! 7 of them in Whatcom County, where I live, alone. So Michele, Olivia (my dd) and I went to Lynden on Wednesday (the first day of the hop) to hit the 3 up there. Then we went to Lynda's Quilts and Yarns in south Ferndale/north Bellingham. O. We shopped until the ...

One Step Forward, Two Steps Back | But we'll get there eventually.

One Step Forward, Two Steps Back. But we'll get there eventually. On February 3, 2013 by Jonathan. Hi everyone. I wanted to apologize for not updating over the last… months. I’ve started a YouTube channel, and have been putting some of my energy into that. Also (I don’t recall if I’ve stated this already, if I have, forgive me), I have started grad school, and it is taking up the majority of my time. So if you’re interested, my YouTube channel can be found here. Rebuttal to Facebook Spammery. If this is ...
