Wednesday, June 16, 2010. Earlier this week we visited Hill Top Farm, the summer home and working studio of Beatrix Potter. From the sale of her little books, Beatrix bought and donated a lot of land to the National Trust here in England. She also donated this property to the Trust with the instructions to leave it furnished as is and allow the people to visit. Monday, June 7, 2010. The things I am going to miss about France. 1 French wine - even the 3 euro priced bottles are good. 7 The French language.

Tuesday, May 11, 2010. Last week we spent several days showing Nick and Katie wine regions here. After picking them up on the outskirts of Paris, we drove to Bourgogne, better known to Americans as Burgundy. We visited the town of Beaune and toured a Chateau (and bought some mighty fine wine as well). Beaune had a nice little wine museum that was interesting. Saturday, December 26, 2009. One of the things we enjoyed most when we were in Strasbourg was the cuisine. Because it's so near the German border, there is a decidedly German influence to their food. The sauerkraut was delicious. The beer was excellent (according to Larry) and the wine was good. Riesling is the local wine specialty (which is one of my favorites). Alsatian Riesling is a little drier than the German labels of the same name. Saturday, December 19, 2009. So you think you want to visit Paris!

Light - Battenberg Blog. Monday, February 1, 2010. February 1, 2010. It has been a while since we posted anything. Well to get everyone up to date. Two days before Thanksgiving our furnace died. Really died. Not fixable. After almost two week, we got a new one and we are doing well in the cold weather. It seems very efficient. Jim is still working both at Eide Saw and Gassen (Jonathan Association). I am doing very little at Bethel University but still have my full time job in Shakopee. February 1, 2010.

Light - Battenberg Blog. Tuesday, August 4, 2009. Well, it has been a month since the flooded lower level. This week they have started taking out the sheet rock (about 6-8 inches up the wall). They are spraying a treatment on the wood to keep from getting mold etc. Have no idea when it will be finished.
