From the Midwest to Massachusetts. Archive for August, 2015. On August 6, 2015 Leave a Comment. And now I’m here and I miss you. I miss your rough-around-the-edges quality that leaves no questions unanswered. I miss the fact that I don’t have to think about what I wear when I’m with you. I miss the scrappiness of churches that are few but strong. I miss the way the ocean and the land meet. I miss the faces that I’m used to seeing. And fitfully, I go back to sleep. Also, I’m sorry. For the times...I’...

From the Midwest to Massachusetts. Laquo; Like a Fog. We can do this. How did we get here? April 13, 2015 by lordhereami. 26 days until I graduate from Seminary. Just typing that statement makes a little knot in my throat rise and I breathe deep to keep from tearing up. Oh, my heart. How did we get here? Today I had lunch at the beach with my sweet friend, Brinn, and her baby bump of a little girl. And there are still piles of snow, but Oh. Spring is here. Spring of my last year of Seminary. My brother g...

It’s been a week of making lists and reading words and feeling a lot. Engagement Party. Good Results. Boston. Verdict. Death Sentence. Funeral. Dreaming. And here we are at the end of a week that went too fast doing things that weren’t supposed to take so long and now I am worn. Absolutely worn. What if I don’t raise support? And now he dies. And we a...

Last Supper | Settling into God:
https://lordhereami.wordpress.com/2015/05/03/last-supper
From the Midwest to Massachusetts. Laquo; We can do this. May 3, 2015 by lordhereami. Tonight, I gathered together some of my favorite people in the world. These are the souls I go the gym with. The ones who have made meals in terrible kitchens. The ones who came over one night after my heart was shattered and made me eat something. The ones who hide behind couches and walls to shout, “Surprise! And so we took some photos. Because that’s my love language. I want to remember this place, these people.

Thornhills in Dallas: July 2010
http://thornhillsindallas.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Thornhills in Every Season. Plans for the big, much anticipated Thornhill Reunion were compromised at the last minute due to some unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances, but we headed out to Missouri nonetheless and still had a great time. We drove up on Friday, June 25, with our books on tape: The Hobbit (although it was so painful to listen to, we couldn't finish it) and Adventures in Odyssey (thanks Bekah! They visited me at work and took me to lunch at Chick-fil-a (I can't lie.it's becoming a n...

Thornhills in Dallas: December 2009
http://thornhillsindallas.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Thornhills in Every Season. Stuffing mix, potatoes, carrots, bell. Peppers, rolls, canned green beans, corn and cranberry sauce. About the only things I had to get were gravy, an onion, sparkling cider and a bag for the turkey! This was my first turkey, and initially I was pretty intimidated, but it turned out to be very easy! Completed my collection of Harry Potter DVDs. I got David a long-overdue disc golf bag with disc, Iron Man and some Starbucks "Christmas Blend" coffee. It was a very good day =).

Thornhills in Dallas: November 2009
http://thornhillsindallas.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Thornhills in Every Season. Time to play in the leaves. My heart is full . So much to be thankful for. Made rice crispie treats and ate good BBQ food. All in all, we had a great time with our sister and were reminded how much we love and miss our family. Thanks for taking the time to come and see us Brett! Prior to this experience, I was under the impression that carving pumpkins works the same way that I envision sculptures being created, namely, hacking away at it until you step back and voila! And in ...
ThOuGHTs from a closet-sized room: Pentwater Welcomes You
http://wonderstreams.blogspot.com/2010/08/pentwater-welcomes-you.html
ThOuGHTs from a closet-sized room. Thursday, August 12, 2010. The entirety of my writing “career” has been spent writing censored. I am constantly so concerned about offending someone or allowing others to see a side of me that I keep hidden that I spend a great deal of time crafting my words carefully so that no one is put off by what I choose to say. Enough of this nonsense. Its time I start allowing whatever spills out of me to freely invade the blank space in front of me. Think what you will. Liked w...

How Beautiful Are The Feet. Seek Justice, Encourage the Oppressed. Defend the Cause of the Fatherless, Plead the Case of the Widow." -Isaiah 1:17. Saturday, June 19, 2010. Psalm 81 : Protector. He said 'I removed the burden from (Melissa's) shoulders; (her) hands were set free from the basket. In your distress you called and I rescued you, I answered you out of a thundercloud." -Psalm 81:6-7. I told her out of my tears, "I have the worst. TIA : (This Is Africa). Life and Times of Lord Herbert
Life and Times of Lord Herbert. Monday, December 9, 2013. Busy during the Holidays! Wow, I have had a busy holiday season. Well, busy for me. I used to multitask with the best, but now I single task very slowly. First, Thanksgiving, then my birthday, then Christmas and family. Had a great birthday, maybe I should say birthweek. A Birthday Delight - Puerto Vallarta for a beach break. The Lindo Mar Restaurant in PVR. We wanted to stay longer, but we had to return to Ajijic. Warm weather not like up North!

Twmpa, Twmpa, you're gonna need a jumper. Occasional random rambling about stuff. Friday, 21 October 2011. Mekons - Ancient and Modern: 1911-2011 / Magazine - No Thyself / Chris Difford - Cashmere If You Can. As one of his Desert Island Discs. I have fond memories of seeing them at a May Day Festival in Digbeth Civic Hall sharing a bill with The Au Pairs and MP Tony Benn. I admit that after their underwhelming debut album The Quality Of Mercy Is Not Strnen. I promptly ran out to buy it (well, sort of) an...
