Friday, May 15, 2009. Day 20 - Thu 14 May. Our last 50's Diner. Well, it's the final day of our holiday, and after finishing off most of our packing we went for breakfast in the 50's diner up the street. Still being watched by the police. After breakfast we checked out. We had two last places to visit on the way to the airport, the home of Mythbusters, and Walmart. Or can explosives be used to clean the inside of a concrete mixer? The usual stuff you ask yourself everyday :). Elaine and the "hire car".

Friday, May 1, 2009. Day 06 - Thu 30 April. We left early for Zion, and overnight the sprinkler systems had iced up. Not something you expect in a desert environment. An amazing little antique and bric a brac store we came across. We arrived at Zion around 10am and took the shuttle bus up the valley. Elmo in the valley. Elaine in the valley. Peter would have joined them, but we didnt have a lot of time . (yeah right! We left Zion about 14:00 for Las Vegas, and drove past another mad collector.

Wednesday, May 13, 2009. Day 18 - Tue 12 May. Elmo gets a new job. The Painted Ladies - Alamo Square. We decided to look at a few sights in the city. These are the famous victorian houses in San Francisco, called the painted ladies. A different view of the bridge from Golden Gate Beach. It was nice to see the dogs playing in the surf. But then we wanted to leave early as we had a lot of miles to cover to get through Death Valley (da, da, dum, da, dum . please hum in a suitable onimous way). Just like our hire car! Wednesday, April 29, 2009. Day 04 - Tue 28 April. Early morning blue jay. Our last day at the Grand Canyon, and it was an early start again. We decided to walk down into the canyon for a bit before we left, and we saw this bird as we walked to the rim. Going down is the easy bit. We took the Bright Angel trail, which leads all the way to the river. Needless to say we were not going to do THAT! It's recommended you do that over 2 days. As you can see, the early morning sun is just starting to come up.
