Friday, December 26, 2014. 2014-09-24 Another Rest Day. This was a rest day. I lounged around in the tsuyado all day. I did meet young UK couple who was doing a pilgrimage. They just wanted to see the small temple on the map (and use the bathroom, it seemed like). They looked like enjoyable company. Perhaps I'll see them again on the trail. Friday, December 26, 2014. 2014-09-20 Dogo Onsen/Sen Guesthouse. I woke up fairly late at 6am and I packed my things slowly. I wasn't planning on walking far today. There was supposed to be a tsuyado at temple 51. It is near Dogo onsen and other tourist attraction, so I elected to stay there. However, the tsuyado doesn't seem to have been cared for very much, and the room was covered with dust and spiderweb. I wanted to see the sights starting around 5pm, so I swept the room to make it more tolerable.

None-the-less, I woke up, packed my things and started my walk in the rain. Walking in the rain was noticeably less pleasant. After about 5 hours of walking, I decided to take the bus rest of the way. When I was tired as a dog, I saw a sign on a store saying there is a henro hut there. Friday, December 26, 2014. I was up and left the tsuyado by 7am. On the way down, I chatted with some locals who were just hanging about. I don't remember much about temple 57, but I do remember about temple 58, which was much more memorable due to the hike up. Temple 58 would have been a nice place to spent a night.
