I studied alongside Matt for three years and he always had imaginative game ideas. This is one of them. Check out his development blog @. Http:/ luminesca.blogspot.com/. My time gaming has also suffered (I've not even played The Walking Dead yet :() but with the imminent release of BS5 and the third installation of The Longest Journey game I have been trying to get through my Steam. Firstly, I have decided on the working title of my mobile game, Werdz.

Wednesday, 6 June 2012. Late May Update: What's been accomplished. So progress with my mobile project has gone slower than I'd thought and liked, but that's life and until I win the lottery and become an indie developer I think there will be inevitable delays to my project's work schedule. Any who.I guess I started this project a couple of months ago and so far I have completed the following:. Layout of the menu flow and one game mode scene. Submit button to clear array and output word score. With the re...

Indie game I am making with. Luminesca is an underwater exploration game about a creature called Lum learning about the world he is born into. A level I made for Half-Life 2: Episode Two. You play as a prisoner who awakens in Nova Prospekt shortly after the events of Half-Life 2. Gordon Freeman has come and gone and the antlions he left there have begun to establish a colony. The player must cooperate with another prisoner - a stranded Vortigaunt - to get out alive. Corn of the Dead.

Friday, 16 December 2011. Sequel to Hero, is a little action/adventure/shooter game available for free. On author Daniel Remar. S website. It blends elements of Metroidvania (world exploration) and side-scrolling shmups (spacially-restrictive combat). In this piece I will identify some of the design decisions Remar made and what I thought of the experience as a whole (short version: I loved it! Move and shoot, move and shoot! Player movement is mapped to your standard Up/Down/Left/Right. You can only sho...

figments & pigments: Speaking with stilted enthusiasm

Thursday, 13 September 2012. Speaking with stilted enthusiasm. Last week night I was describing two of my personal. To a few colleagues, and I realised how inept I am at describing these things with any kind of enthusiastic conviction. When I start to describe one of the games I'm working on my mouth is often trying to say "I'm making this cool thing! Yet my brain is thinking ".but it's not really a cool thing until you work out all these kinks". But I guess it's OK. That design gap is is a driving f...

OliveWorks: December 2011
http://oliveworks.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Friday, 9 December 2011. Because of the extra time that I spent preparing for my project and the rest of my tasks, I sadly neglected this UDK level. I want to complete this level to make it the first in a long line of outstanding game design pieces, but it looks like I may need to go back to redesigning the level again in order to move forward. The rest of the and next year should be very interesting for me. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). World of Level Design.
