I went on a coach trip to Chester, but if you drive yourself, there is a Park and Ride system in operation, as well as a large car park very close to the town centre, the river and the race course. It was an interesting flight from Melbourne to Hobart, flying over several small islands just north of Tasmania, including the infamous Flinders Island – where the original islanders were exiled to almost 200 years ago.
