Thursday, June 30, 2011. Every summer Danny's mom picks a place for us to go and pays for our lodging! It's usually not too far from home, although she did take us all to Disneyland one year, and to South Dakota another year. Lately though because the family is growing and there are a lot more people, we have kept it pretty close. The house she rented was huge and gorgeous. Tons of room for all 19 of us! Still a lot of snow up through Berthoud Pass and the Continental Divide.and a little scary. Seriously...

Apron Strings: November 2011

Thursday, November 17, 2011. I am seriously bummed. I try to go walking or running every morning. I get up at about six am and put my music on, and depending on my mood and the music I either walk or run. I love the mornings. I love being out there for the sunrise. It is the most peaceful, magical time of day and my only alone time, so I really cherish every moment out there. So for now I will spend my mornings on the boring treadmill in my boring basement. I will miss him. Back up the stairs. I was sooo...

Apron Strings: September 2011
http://holdingontoapronstrings.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 28, 2011. So Mac and Maddie started first in mid August. Mac is in 5th grade this year and Maddie in 2nd. Baylee started a few days later. Afternoon kindergarten. Which is good because I can't quite part with this kid for more than a couple of hours per day. I didn't get first day of school pictures of the middle schooler because he is way too cool for that! And I don't know why the high schooler didn't want me to take her picture at five in the morning before seminary! Danny's dad i...

Apron Strings: December 2011

Friday, December 9, 2011. You know how when you are decorating your Christmas tree and you are right up next to it, you can't really tell how it looks? Then you step back and there are huge gaping holes and ornaments crammed together, mostly at the bottom if your kids have helped. But then you plug in the lights. Everything seems to instantly fill in. Everything glows and sparkles and you don't much care anymore about the arrangement. Isn't that a bit like life? He is the light. He is the only one wh...

Wednesday, May 25, 2011. The Four O'clock Hour. What the heck am I supposed to do now? Those of you who know me know that I don't watch TV. I don't have an evening "show". But I do record Oprah. I let them all pile up and then delete the ones I don't want to watch. Then late at night when the kids are in bed or while I'm on the treadmill,. I watch my friend. I don't always agree with her point of view. But who does agree all the time with their friends? I don't have access to OWN. So, I guess that's it.

Apron Strings: March 2011
http://holdingontoapronstrings.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 24, 2011. Lesson #1: Nothing is as freeing as owing nobody NO THING! Someday I will go. Nothing is worth the horrible feeling of owing somebody money. And I mean nothing. No house, no car, no TV, no video game, no new sofa, no cute little thing for the house, no outfit, no trip, no dinner out.NOTHING! I even had that guilt ridden thought that just because we live on a school teacher's salary and we have 6 children doesn't mean we can't afford a big fancy house! First things first. Sto...

C and E plus 3}. Thursday, March 31, 2011. It is finally finished. I saw this cute gray board at the craft store (which I happened to have my 50% off coupon for) and it came to me. I knew what I wanted to do with it! I have been wanting a FHE board for a while, since my children are becoming more involved, and they love to see their name under their "job". So, I found the paper I loved {I am not sure why that is an agonizing process for me, but I guess I just have to know. Posted by Elizabeth Marinos.
