Get out there (here) and enjoy! Rob around the World. My plans with regards to reading materials seem to be working out well. Everywhere I've stayed to date has had a reasonable selection of books left/exchanged by other travellers and as a result I'm getting to read an odd, but fascinating mix. I'll take both books away with me, as I think they really need to stay together. Between them they are far lighter than The Historian anyway so I think it's a fair trade. Who knows what I'll find next.

Alas though I picked up some kind of stomach bug (probably from nuts on the coach) and woke in the middle of the night needing various pills before being able to get back to sleep. Get out there (here) and enjoy! Rob around the World. My flight from Johannesburg arrived early into Heathrow this morning, after leaving late from SA. Once down we suffered some delays when our captain discovered another aircraft in his assigned parking space, but these were extremely minor and in the interim we got to see a great deal of the apron while he moseyed around (in our 747-400) waiting for the space to be cleared. 22nd-Dec-2006 11:52 pm (UTC). Yesterday morning I was standing in the back of 4wd throwing 2kg chunks of meat to the cheetahs racing along behind us and watching in frank envy as their sleek bodies seemingly effortlessly swept through the long grasses. Today I'm sat in an Internet cafe a couple of hundred yards away from the roaring white rollers of Namibia's Atlantic coast. Compucentre, Swakupmund, Namibia. 28th-Nov-2006 04:26 pm (UTC). Get out there (here) and enjoy! Rob around the World. I flew out of Jo'burg yesterday and ended up further south than I've ever been in my life so far. I am in the remote mountain kingdom of Lesotho and staying just across the road from the royal palace. In between the dust and rock are the dwellings of the poorer citizens of the city. Not quite slums, but certainly the same kind of cheaply errected houses of wood, concrete and corragated iron to be found across Africa. The centre of Maseru is quiet for ...

Get out there (here) and enjoy! Rob around the World. I'm having a more traditional holiday day today. I started by walking along the sweep of the bay close to my hotel. It's an officially recognised wetland area of significance and is preserved by law. Very beautiful. This must be off-season, for although the shops are all open, the streets seem virtually deserted.
