My little kitchen and me. Sunday, 16 October 2011. Macarons part 8: Pink October (Mac attack #24). My all-time favourite colour of macarons? This month's Mac Attack http:/ mactweets.blogspot.com/. Using my usual macaron recipe, i whipped up a batch of dusty pink macarons with white chocolate ganache and homemade hazelnut praline. I started off by making my homemade hazelnut praline. I picked up the recipe from http:/ notsohumblepie.blogspot.com/2010/04/macarons-101-french-meringue.html. Leave to rest....

Always... leave room for dessert: August 2010
http://leave-room-for-dessert.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Always. leave room for dessert. My journey for the sweetest things in life. Getting over my fear of frying. This month's Chocolate with François. Challenge was selected by yours truly. When I was asked to select the recipe for July, I carefully perused Chocolate Epiphany. This is my version of the American doughnut; a ball of ganache that is dipped in a great beer-based. Yeasty batter, then fried and served with a crème anglais dipping sauce instead of icing.". Are you kidding me? 250g (1 Cup) heavy cream.

my little kitchen and me: Macarons part 6: Rum and Raisin macarons (MacAttack Challenge #22)
http://mylittlekitchenandme.blogspot.com/2011/09/rum-and-raisin-macarons-macattack.html
My little kitchen and me. Tuesday, 6 September 2011. Macarons part 6: Rum and Raisin macarons (MacAttack Challenge #22). Since i had some rum and raisin leftover from the ice cream i made, i decided to venture on to make some Rum and Raisin macarons. For the macaron shells, i used the same recipe i have been using in my previous posts. I used "caramel" colouring to get the brownish-hue as i will be using a chocolate rum and raisin ganache which will be relatively dark. 180g white and milk chocolate mix.

Always. leave room for dessert. My journey for the sweetest things in life. Problem is, the Macaron gods seem to be a bit peeved with me. Yep, that's right. macaron FAIL! This month's MacTweets challenge was to create Pinkarons for Pinktober, in honour of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This cause is important to me not only as a woman, but as a woman who has seen friends and loved ones touched by this tragic disease. The importance of self-exams. But later never really came, at least not fo...

Food for thought and thought for food. February 6, 2010. I love making macarons. Seriously. Now that I am comfortable with the process and have a few successes under my belt, I just really love it. Plus, the end result is so very tasty. My latest macaron making adventure was inspired by MacTweets. Which has issued a Valentine’s Day theme for this round of macarons. When I think of Valentines, I think of pink and red hues, so I decided to run with those colors and see what would happen. I prefer a salty f...

The Duncan Diaries: Black Pepper and Strawberry Macs
http://duncandiaries.blogspot.com/2011/03/black-pepper-and-strawberry-macs.html
Monday, March 21, 2011. Black Pepper and Strawberry Macs. For this month was a spice and a fruit. Weird, but so many delicious combinations! At first I though of the obvious, like apple/cinnamon (yummy! And even thought of a lime/cilantro one but besides cilantro not being a spice I really just didn't want to go there! I decided on Black Pepper and Strawberry, which were super delicious! Here's the recipe that I used with the instructions on Not So Humble Pie's site:. 120g egg whites (divided). Strawberr...

To Do / Wishlist. Sunday, February 27, 2011. The January 2011 Daring Bakers’ challenge was hosted by Astheroshe of the blog accro. She chose to challenge everyone to make a Biscuit Joconde Imprime to wrap around an Entremets dessert. This was going to be my first challenge at the Daring Kitchen, and, I must admit, at first, I really thought that I wasn't going to make this one. But then, I took a closer look at the recipe and wanted to give it a try. It was so delicious, I love desserts with fruits!

Food should make you smile. Sunday, April 25, 2010. Liver and Bacon - Sustenance in style. This dish is for Nikki, love of my life, 'cos she "don't like liver". Gravy: bacon, red onion, bacon and port gravy. Two Tatties Terrine (maris piper and sweet potatoes). Red Onion Marmalade (port, sherry vinegar & red wine). Sunday, April 25, 2010. Sunday...
