Wu-zy Whatsit: July 2015
http://wu-zy.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Just a place for this stay-at-home Mama to muse, brag, vent and otherwise chronicle my life and that of my family. Monday, July 27, 2015. A Week Like No Other. Yet also with lots and lots of visits from Daddy and big sibs, friends from church and family too; so many prayers and kindnesses and encouragements for P, for me, for the rest of my family as. Am I being paranoid? I was already tearful while explaining my fears to him and he could see that I really didn't think she was fine, so he agreed that we ...

Kitchens I Have Loved: July 2012
http://kitchensihaveloved.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Kitchens I Have Loved. Monday, July 30, 2012. Nantucket Seen Two Ways. If you have been following my blog, you know I am conflicted design-wise - warm and antique as my earliest posts demonstrate or serene and spare as Jacobsen and my latest posts demonstrate. It's taken me a while to resolve my conflict (actually it's still evolving), but maybe today's post will help to explain why I need at least five houses. I fear that may be my only resolution. Going back to a House Beautiful. Half of the Maddens' d...

Kitchens I Have Loved: August 2012
http://kitchensihaveloved.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Kitchens I Have Loved. Wednesday, August 22, 2012. Good-by Vermont; Hello Again Nantucket. Had a wonderful few days in Vermont, but being away always throws me off my routine. Caught up with the wash and tidying household tasks, so now I can relax a bit and return to Nantucket before a wonderful new family visit begins Saturday. There's been a touch of autumn in the evening air this week, but I'm just not ready to bid summer farewell. Come, think beach and warm summer days with me. Hence the title - New.

Wu-zy Whatsit: June 2014
http://wu-zy.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Just a place for this stay-at-home Mama to muse, brag, vent and otherwise chronicle my life and that of my family. Thursday, June 19, 2014. Party #2: the Shindig. Oh wow, how long has it been? Except that spring/summer is so busy I probably won't have time, so this might be it for a long time! We shall see. But I just can't not finish posting about Fries' birthday after leaving you hanging with a part 1 back there. Singing the birthday song. She's 1! The Kraken made her a special card, of course! When I ...

A Mind Unafraid to Travel: April 2011
http://amindunafraidtotravel.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 13, 2011. Sincerely, I prefer wine over lemonade. I seem to apologize every other post for not getting around to blogging often enough. I know many of you would like updates on my daily life, but I've been hit pretty hard lately and if I take to writing it out here, I think I may be a bit too specific. I am trying to have this blog be a place that is safe from my struggles, although maybe it shouldn't be? Not me, but it could be. It seemed so 1950's, so retro. So of course I loved it...

Kitchens I Have Loved: May 2012
http://kitchensihaveloved.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Kitchens I Have Loved. Monday, May 21, 2012. English Garden and Architecture Design Continued. Will this English period ever end, you ask? And I'm sure you will notice the hand of Edwin Lutyens in the house and garden's design. First we see Great Dixter's topiary garden on a misty day in January. His father started this garden, but his son got to see the mature topiaries. A glimpse into a Great Dixter's interior, a room filled with June poppies (and two chairs to give your eye teeth for.). If you are a g...

A Mind Unafraid to Travel: July 2011
http://amindunafraidtotravel.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 25, 2011. Or a massive wedding with so many funny stories and great memories? Glorious. And I wish I took more photographs. I'm obsessed with great photographers who capture real life images but I never really do so myself because I'm even more obsessed with living in the moment. After the moment is over, however, I'm slightly bummed at myself for not taking that split moment out and capturing it on film. Or, not "film" anymore, but digital. space. 6/12 cousins - 3 pairs of siblings. In a cu...

A Mind Unafraid to Travel: December 2011
http://amindunafraidtotravel.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 20, 2011. No, not me. My Boston best friend! Her now fiance reached out to me about 6 weeks ago to start planning this past Saturday. I went ring shopping with him to make sure he was picking everything she requested in the ring. We worked out the details for Saturday and I threw together their first engagement party that happened about an hour after they got engaged. Everything about the evening was a surprise and it was a complete success! You're the best, D! Ollie didn't know where t...

Wednesday, June 22, 2011. Why does everything depend on its profitability? Why can't it just depend on if the individual is happy or challenged? Why do we need to put such pressures on ourselves? I don't have answers. But I do have little things that make me happy. Things that take me to another place and tell me it's alright to be calm; to enjoy the company of others and be at peace. These are my 13 happy things:. 1 Small propeller airplanes. They remind me of Saturday afternoons growing up. One of my r...

A Mind Unafraid to Travel: Autumn is my Favorite
http://amindunafraidtotravel.blogspot.com/2011/10/autumn-is-my-favorite.html
Tuesday, October 18, 2011. Autumn is my Favorite. I love images. I love moving images. Words are beautiful and I enjoy being able to put feelings and sites into words. But there's nothing like the real thing; a thousand words to one picture. You know what is better than images, though? Jess, me and Charlie the toy poodle - ready to go! Yes, he made it all the way up the mountain. with a little help. On our way up. Not even halfway yet. Charlie saying, "Hey! The view gets better and better. So refreshing ...
