I Eat Maine-ly Lobster. Yup, that's the color. Cute name, huh? It's kind of an orangey-pinky-red.like a cooked lobster. :). Labels: Nature, Crafting, Home Cool Things. Monday, August 29, 2011. Monday, November 28, 2011. Dreaming of a Snow Globe Christmas (Thanks Sundance). If you've followed me for a while now, you know that last year we had some snowglobe magic. Photo via MainelyHome December 2010. And some snowglobe tragedy. Photo via MainelyHome December 2010. I like to focus on the magic - and, when you can combine that with my MasonJarLove, well, it's super magical. And, Sundance has done just that. Labels: Nature, Crafting, Home Christmas. Maine-ly Home: October 2011

Wednesday, October 19, 2011. Shortly after my very dear Nana died two and a half years ago, I indicated to my mother that if no one had their eyes set on her wing chair, I would love to have it. I know what you are thinking. A rose floral wingchair. Why on earth would I want such a thing? It's about as old lady as you can get. But, I really did want it. So, I got the chair. And, much to my husband's shagrin, I insisted that we put it in the antique bay window in our dining room. Odd, I know. ...Two years...
Maine-ly Home: Being a Locavore
http://mainelyhome.blogspot.com/2011/12/being-locavore.html
Wednesday, December 21, 2011. I'm a little behind in sharing this. But, hey, better late than never? At Thanksgiving I try really hard to have a totally local thanksgiving. I get a little nuts about it - tracking down locally milled flour and all - but when you sit down in front of a table of local food it feels totally worth it. And, man, was it all delicious. The menu from our meal is posted in the photo above. But, thought you might enjoy a list of sources. Brussel Sprouts from Squire Tarbox Farm.

Après Fête: A Mossy Affair
http://apresfete.blogspot.com/2010/04/mossy-affair.html
Entertaining. food. menus. themes. party. April 12, 2010. I've been a bit homesick for Oregon so I created an evening themed around the Pacific Northwest. All of the greens, pine cones and moss created the cozy setting for the flavors of home: berries, hazelnuts, blue cheese, salmon, trout and pinot noir. My mom shipped me pine cones from Oregon which served as place cards with muslin tags. Moss from Tillamock, OR was an amazing find at the flower market. Sampling Oregon blues at the Artisinal Cheese Gal...

A Working Mom's Meal Plan). A Working Mom's Meal Plan. The hardest part of my day is when we get home and everyone is immediately hungry. I love to cook and prefer. Home-cooked meals, but I don't like to cook much during the work week. And yet, dinner has to get on the table. My solution: make-ahead meals, freeze-ahead meals and recipes so easy that I'll make them on a Monday. I cook. Mostly on the weekends, always doubling recipes, and rely heavily on my extra freezer and a decently-stocked pantry.

Finding wellness in moderation. February 6, 2011 at 9:34 am · Filed under Earth. And tagged: cat litter. Unhealthy chemicals are in more places than you think, including cat litter! Are not exactly healthy or safe. So, I switched to a brand called World’s Best Cat Litter. Which is made from corn kernels. Though this litter is a bit harder to come by, it has lots of benefits. Then one day I happened to notice another brand… One that had been right under my nose all along. It is called Feline Pine. Here...

Living through breast cancer. December 31, 2016. Or as I like to say to ’16. November 19, 2016. It’s that time of year to take stock of all we have to be thankful for. I am thankful for friends and family who have stood by me through some pretty horrific shit. I am thankful for those who removed themselves when they found they could not stand by me. I am thankful for my continued health (5 years this month since my diagnosis) and the health of my children and parents. Living through breast cancer. How do...
