Making Islands Where No Island Should Go. General craftiness from one Boston girl. December 30, 2012. Hand Warmers for a Cold Day. At 12:31 pm by Pam. With felt and rice, I knew I had found the perfect gift! Our library is always either really hot or really cold, so I knew my giftee would love personalized hand warmers. I want to make more and more, because they’re easy to make and make very quickly, so they’re satisfying. I need to make some for myself just to keep in my purse. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Mother, May I Go And Swim? | Making Islands Where No Island Should Go
https://makingislands.wordpress.com/2012/11/13/mother-may-i-go-and-swim
Making Islands Where No Island Should Go. General craftiness from one Boston girl. November 13, 2012. Mother, May I Go And Swim? At 8:45 am by Pam. I haven’t been embroidering as much as I used to, but hopefully this winter will make me want to curl up under a blanket with my hoops and needles. I made this piece over the summer (one of the few pieces I did this year) for my mother. It’s our favorite poem from a book of nonsense poetry that I adored when I was a child:. Mother, may I go and swim? You are ...
It’s Muppet Time! | Making Islands Where No Island Should Go
https://makingislands.wordpress.com/2012/11/03/its-muppet-time
Making Islands Where No Island Should Go. General craftiness from one Boston girl. November 3, 2012. It’s Muppet Time! At 6:33 pm by Pam. Well, I must say that my group of friends has a knack for wacky gifts. We’ve had the Supernatural dolls. And the zombie kit. Among others). So when Melody said “I don’t want anything for my birthday. Well, I guess, maybe a muppet of myself” it felt like the gauntlet had been thrown. Originally, I found the Muppet Whatnot Workshop. I could go into detail on the multiple...

Consider the Daffodil: May 2011
http://considerthedaffodil.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 28, 2011. I'm guessing time travel is the new vampire or zombie, because there is a whole spat of new time-defying stories sitting on my bedside table. Case in point: Ruby Red. I've read a few translated books lately, and one thing I can say about Ruby Red is that it didn't sound translated. Translator Anthea Bell did a wonderful job keeping the language flowing, very important for a book aimed at teens. Monday, May 23, 2011. But only a few pages into Page by Paige. Sunday, May 1, 2011.
.::Craftlockian::.: My Valentine Craft Swap
http://www.craftlockian.com/2012/02/my-valentine-craft-swap.html
Tuesday, February 14, 2012. My Valentine Craft Swap. In a past post I briefly mentioned the Oh Strumpets Valentine's Day Craft Swap I signed up for. This was my first ever craft swap and I'm so glad I took part. I was paired up with Pam Making Islands. Who amazingly embroidered this Sherlock Holmes piece for me. I absolutely love it! Not only because it's Sherlock, but because it's handmade. Pure talent! I can just hear Sherlock and Watson examining the heart left on the chair :). The answer is yes.

The Reading Mouse: Let the 24 Hour Readathon Begin!
http://thereadingmouse.blogspot.com/2014/04/let-24-hour-readathon-begin.html
Saturday, April 26, 2014. Let the 24 Hour Readathon Begin! It's that time of year again - that time when I (and many others across the internet) ignore everything for 24 hours and just READ! I sadly can't just drop everything, since I have to work today, but I will be doing as much reading as possible. I'll be trying to update here hourly (not really until after 5pm eastern, though, since work), and I'll be on Twitter. And to get me started, here is the kick-off meme:. I'm just outside Boston, MA. Read m...

The Reading Mouse: November 2013
http://thereadingmouse.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 6, 2013. Review: Rose Under Fire. Rose Under Fire could be read as a stand-alone book, but you'd get so much more out of it as a companion. If you only have time for one WWII book in your life right now, opt for Code Name Verity, which is much more inventive and emotional. Saturday, November 2, 2013. Donna Tartt and The Goldfinch. Now, did I really enjoy this book? However, I am left thinking about this book. It hasn't left me in the weeks since I read it, which is rare for me....

Making Iskies in Eve
Making Iskies in Eve. Friday, November 5, 2010. Finished moving. now pondering POS setup. I have finally moved my last alt from Amarr space to Gallente space. I am operating mainly in low security space while a conflict is raging in our 0.0 space. My ability to pew pew is limited because of 1) It’s mainly just my main in 0.0 during. Tz, and I’m still new at pvp… and a Manticore stealth bomber does not lend itself to solo activity to BC / Cruiser gangs. 2) I only have one (1) drake up there atm. My soluti...

Making Islands Where No Island Should Go. General craftiness from one Boston girl. November 30, 2017. Harry Potter Escape Room. At 3:35 pm by Pam. I haven’t written here in forever! Many things have changed – most importantly, I am now a full-time teen librarian in a library that I adore! I was thrilled when I found a lock that had the four Hogwarts house colors. A few of the puzzles would not be solvable without the flashlights. The directional lock. Was fun to use, and it took them a while to realize t...
