Wednesday, February 27, 2013. Frustrated with Annie Sloan Wax. Anyone else having difficulty with waxing on Graphite? I painted this 25$ chest with Graphite and used only the clear wax on it, it shows smears when I rub my finger across the surface. I have used the wax on Duck Egg Blue and Versaille without any problem. I'm wondering if the different colors absorb the wax differently. Have you had trouble with the wax on Graphite? Thursday, October 4, 2012. Side of the road dresser find, painted with ASCP. I haven't been able to blog in ages, I finally diagnosed my problem, I wasn't using google chrome. So, now that I have worked that out I can play catch up. This is my first ASCP project, part of a bedroom suite that some fool threw out! I also picked up the armoire, dressing table and mirror and head and foot board. Hopefully, I'll be getting to the head and footboard soon, it's the only piece I'm keeping for myself.

Lots of sewing to put it back together but I can't even see where I repaired it. A little skimpy for the bathroom window but I love the look when the sun shines through the window. Wednesday, February 27, 2013. No cost coffee filter wreath. Click on picture to enlarge. I have seen these coffee filter wreaths around blogland for a while and finally accumulated enough used coffee filters to make my own. Simple, simple, simple! A metal hanger twisted to a circle, which was the most difficult part of this project, staple the coffee filters on and added 3 music paper bird cut outs. I have enough filters left to make another to give away. Fun, easy project. Happy New Year Candles.

Sunday, April 29, 2012. Another side of the road find. I found this lovely lamp on the side of the road during bulk pickup days, it's seen better days but I knew I could make it shine again. A few coats of Oil rubbed bronze paint, a new 20$ shade and I have a new lamp! Linking up with Southern Hospitality's Thrifty Treasures. Monday, April 16, 2012. Hi, I’m Tracy. I was born in Marion, Ohio, and by the time I was in fourth grade I was pretty sure I’d move to Paris. While I never moved to a country with a 32-hour workweek and paid maternity leave, I did get the hell out of dodge…sort of. Turns out that minus a brief stint in the South, I’ve never strayed too far from the Rust Belt. Born in a steel town, I ended up forging the framework for my career in the motor city. What better way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon than sitting around a kitchen with friends, learning about bread, kneading and shaping dough, then being rewarded with beautiful fresh ciabatta and french loaf.and let's not forget the stinky cheese!
