My Personal Journey to 150 Lbs. What’s Your Favorite Food? On Monday night before going to bed, I sat there and thought to myself for a moment…. “I think I have an addiction…”. My mind began wandering back to very early days in my childhood when I would be asked, “What’s Your Favorite Food, Marcia? 8221; I never had an answer for anyone. My mother would like to claim that my favorite food is Steak and Potatoes though. (Love you Mom! As that is what she would typically end up telling people. Fast forward ...

Dear Scale: It’s Not Me, It’s You. | Keep Weight Off For Life
https://thingsiwouldsayifihadtime.wordpress.com/2013/03/06/dear-scale-its-not-me-its-you
Keep Weight Off For Life. What i have learned along my path of maintaining a 110lb weight loss. The Photo That Started It All. Dear Scale: It’s Not Me, It’s You. When something like a number on a scale can take you from confident and hopeful to self-loathing and hopelessness, it’s time to break up with your scale. Believe me, I understand! We are all so conditioned to want to see that number go down, but your body weight is only one. Measure of your progress. What are some others? Are you sleeping better?

Monday, July 8, 2013. Thursday - July 4 - rest day! Friday - rest day! I may have eaten like crap those two days.). Saturday my group was off, so I ran at Crane's Roost with my friend Barbara. We did 4 miles - it was our last 4. It only goes up from here, folks! All of the rest of the Saturdays in July, we'll do 6, and then it starts going to 8 and above! It makes my stomach hurt to think about it, so I. Will try not to. Won't worry about that yet! IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! I had an absolute blast! We haven't ...

Tuesday, March 26, 2013. Getting in Shape vs. Staying in Shape. Recently I read an article about various celebrities and their fitness habits. One comment really stood out to me. It was from actress Minka Kelly. She said, "I've found that staying in shape is much easier than getting back in shape, so I try to keep things on an even keel.". I'm realizing the absolute truth of that statement! So I want to publicly say that this time, when I finally get in shape, I'd really. Like to stay in shape. Once my l...
OCD Runner: Blogging in my head
http://ocd-runner.blogspot.com/2013/08/blogging-in-my-head.html
Tuesday, August 27, 2013. Blogging in my head. It seems that a huge amount of time has passed, once again, since I have blogged! I often have blog posts bumping around in my head, but somehow they rarely make it to the computer. ANYWAY. I continue to suffer from blisters from my new shoes. I have finally decided to take them back and exchange them for a new pair of my old model. (Mizuno Wave Inspires) I never got any blisters from those! This is the biggest one I had gotten the week before. I really need...
OCD Runner: Back to life
http://ocd-runner.blogspot.com/2013/07/back-to-life.html
Thursday, July 25, 2013. Well, once again, I'm behind on my blogging. I'm not going to go back through and recap all of my workouts since I last posted. But I've been diligently running on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings, and lifting weights twice a week. I did do my first 6 mile run on July 13! Well, it was actually my first 6 mile run since May. And we went more like 6.5 miles, so it really was my longest run! Training in the heat and humidity of Florida is difficult, but I'm committed. And th...
OCD Runner: November 2013
http://ocd-runner.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 10, 2013. Well, obviously, when I went back to work full time in early September, I had too much going on to keep up my workout routine AND my blog! However, I just want to have a quick recap of things that have happened since my last entry so that I can write about my big race that just happened last night/early this morning! In early September, I did my first 12-mile run on the hills of Apopka. I am SO THANKFUL for my group who absolutely got me through that run! After my first 14.
OCD Runner: May 2013
http://ocd-runner.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 21, 2013. I'm pretty bummed. I'm eating better thanks to the nutritionist, and I was hoping to have a great workout today (especially after last week), and that I would be better fueled by my healthy food choices. (Before you ask, my food choices are not causing my stomach problems. I'm very used to a high fiber diet and I haven't changed much except I'm eating more carbs.). I need exercise to help me control it! Sunday, May 19, 2013. I couldn't even make it through the first run. And it...
OCD Runner: Running with Meteors
http://ocd-runner.blogspot.com/2013/08/running-with-meteors.html
Tuesday, August 13, 2013. Lots of workouts have happened since I last blogged! I felt pretty good after my 8 mile run, although I was a little sore. That's to be expected. I welcome the soreness - it means I did something good for my body! Running is weird. I was a little proud of the blister. :). Sunday morning I got a fire ant bite on my toe at church. On the other foot. So then both of my feet had "injuries." I'm so high maintenance! The KT tape worked like a charm. This morning's run was super cool!

Making Maple Syrup
Once you have determined the species of the trees, there are only a few steps that need be followed to make maple syrup. They are time consuming steps but they are not complicated. The process begins with tapping and ends with evaporation. The sap itself will appear thin and clear and have a sweet watery taste before it is processed. It may contain debris or sediment and must be filtered before processing and again after processing to produce the pure appearance of a true maple syrup. The best way to sto...
