Katzendame: Auto litter boxes: helpful or hostile?
http://katzendame.blogspot.com/2012/02/hello-kittens-this-week-im-doing.html
Sunday, 19 February 2012. Auto litter boxes: helpful or hostile? This week, I’m doing something a little different. My mother’s birthday is coming up, and seeing as she is a major Katzendame like me, I’m considering a cat-related gift. Upon searching, I came across a self-cleaning litterbox. Now, I don’t know if any of you have ever seen one of these things in action, but it’s a pretty neat concept. There seem to be a few different models, each baring a different pricetag. Still in demo process. I find t...

Talk about spreading kindness. Sunday, 11 March 2012. As a child, I happily carried my little orange UNICEF box as I trick-or-treated my way from house to house on Halloween. I felt good about collecting coin donations in that little box, and bringing the jingling box of coins to school the next day to send off to UNICEF. Oh, doesn't thinking sound complicated? It's a good thing I learn things on YouTube sometimes. Today I came across a new video on Unicef Canada's YouTube channel. March 12, 2012. Althou...

Sunday, 18 March 2012. The Cat Man of Parliment Hill. A certain wabbit informed me of this lovely man he met in Ottawa a few years ago. After a quick Google search, I realised that others have taken notice of the Cat Man. Have a gander at this article written about him in 2008 in the Ottawa. They’re finding out the so-called Cat Man is possibly more entertaining than his feline charges. The descendants of the cat colony worked inside the Parliament Buildings doing natural pest control until chemicals too...

Charitable Community: February 2012
http://charitablecommunity.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Talk about spreading kindness. Monday, 27 February 2012. Another week has come and gone, and all week long I noticed the goodness in people around me. It was many little things that could go unnoticed, but instead, were noticed. It was efforts to laugh at others' jokes when the jokes weren't very funny, to give gifts when they were unexpected, to give a hand to hold when a hand was needed. It was a beautiful friend reaching out to me, sending an email to let me know she was thinking of me. I recently saw...

Talk about spreading kindness. Sunday, 5 February 2012. It’s February once again. And, it’s Heart Month in several countries. In Canada, the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s goal for the end of February 2012 is to reach 1 million actions that will “Make Death Wait.” These actions can involve healthy meal planning, walking, running, donating, and volunteering. After all, it truly is about people. Of course, I want to mention the volunteers. The Heart and Stroke Foundation has thousands of volunteers who ...

Sunday, 26 February 2012. Adoption Profile: Lionheart * ADOPTED! When I entered the Niagara Falls Humane Society's Adoption Centre in Niagara Square, it was difficult to not get lost in the mews and purrs of a dozen or so lovely and unique felines. But I was on a mission. I approached one of the volunteers and told them I was looking for a very specific cat. "Please show me the cat that has been here the longest," I asked, "the one who deserves a home so much but just hasn't caught a break.". Lionheart w...

Talk about spreading kindness. Sunday, 18 March 2012. Today at the grocery store a few men were discussing which type of frozen french fries to buy: crinkle cut or straight cut. I couldn't help but think that it's a very Canadian problem to worry about which type of food to eat instead of worrying about if there will. Any food to eat. But, it was only a fleeting thought because I knew I was wrong. People that struggle with poverty. I recently came across the Facebook page. If you would like help in CTFC'...

The Mason Jar: May 2012
http://the-masonjar.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Me and the JAR. Sunday, May 13, 2012. The grass is getting greener, the days are getting warmer and that can only mean one thing. my mom's spending her weekends in the garden. This year for Mother's Day I got her started on her herb garden. After a trip to a local green house and Canadian Tire I was prepped for an afternoon of potting jars. A bag of potting soil. A variety of potted herbs - If you are really on the ball, which I wasn't, you can do this from seed. Put some potting soil in each of the jars.

Me and the JAR. Monday, February 27, 2012. Toronto's New Pizza Party Hosts. Pizza holds a place in our hearts at all stages of life:. 8211; a birthday party favorite. 8211; a lunch staple. 8211; a late night saviour. 8211; a no brainer date night. Growing up not eating pizza because of lactose intolerance, I have made it a mission to make up for lost time. Lucky for me Toronto does pizza, and does it well! But more importantly, I had to find a Mason jar connection to let you know about this fabulous place.

The Mason Jar: The Bar Jar
http://the-masonjar.blogspot.com/2012/03/bar-jar.html
Me and the JAR. Monday, March 05, 2012. Ladies and Gentlemen I am proud to announce I am not alone in this jar-affair. And bars across this region are putting the Mason jar in the spotlight. Mason jars and alcohol are a perfect match but definitely not new to the bar seen. Speakeasies may be out but the Mason jar forgot to follow. Great places to drink from jars:. Mildred’s Temple Kitchen -. Bungalow Island Caesar ($8.50). Parts and Labour -. But better yet, make your own… at home! 2 bottles of light beer.
