نريد ان نتناول فى هذه المحاضرة ما يحدث فى السينما الأمريكية، بصرف النظر عن أن المخرجين والجمهور أصبحوا أكثر تعليماً، وبصرف النظر عما إذا كان هذا المستوى من التعليم مفيداً دائماً. الكثيرون الآن قد ينظرون إلى فيلم "كازينو رويال" " Casino Royale " كمثال على هذه النهضة فى السينما والتى تتطلب مًشاهداً متعلماً، فالفيلم يبدو أقل حرفية وأقل تحدياً وأقل إبهاراً من افلام جيمس بوند السابقة. تأملات فى سينما النجوم. فى مشهد عظيم من فيلم "كل رجال ارئيس" لدينا ما يشبه المواجهة التقليدية بين إرادتين، داستن هوفمان وروبرت ردفورد صحفيان مشهوران، هما "برنستين" و"وودوارد" وسرعان ما تظهر فضيحة ووترجيت، لكن برنستين لا يعتقد ان وودوارد يستطيع الكتابة عن الفضيحة فيعيد ترتيب موضوع الفضيحة تلقائياً. وكما يقول بنفسه، انه يكره فكرة ان بعض أفلامه السينمائية تُعلى من قيمة الموضوعات التى تطرحها، وهو يعتقد أن هذا ينطبق حتى على فيلم "كل رجال الرئيس" و. فيلم الذى اخرجه بنفسه عن صيد السمك "اللطش" تحت. يلعب ريدفورد ...

الفيلم السيريالى مولهولاند درايف. بداية الفيلم تسترعى إنتباهنا بمشهد رقص سيريالى سريع من نوع رقصة "جيترباج" تحذر الجمهور من ان الفيلم لن يكون فيلماً عادياً من أفلام أمسيات السبت التى يمكن أن تستمتع بها مع أسرتك، وكلمة "جيترباج" نفسها مُشتقة من الإرتعاش الهذيانى، وقد تخدم هذه الرقصة كتمهيد للتغيرات السيكولوجية والعاطفية التى ستُصيب المُشاهد إثناء مشاهدة الفيلم. فى ظل إصرار المخرج على رفض تفديم تفسيرات منطفية للرمزية فى الفيلم، فالأمر يبدو وكأنه من العبث أن نحاول الوصول إلى تأويل واحد نتفق عليه بخصوص...

العام الماضى في مارينباد. وكذلك فى افلام جودار فى حقبة الستينات، كان هناك ثمة إحساس أن الإطار مثل "الكانافا" التى يرسم عليها الصورة، فى فيلم مثل "الإحتقار" " Contempt " وفيلم "بيرو المجنون" " Pierrot le Fou " وفيلم "الصينية" " La Chinoise " كان إستخدام جودار للألوان الأساسية يكشف عن مخرج يقوم بالتلوين، فهو القائل (هذا ليس دماً، إنه لون احمر). هذه المحاضرة على أية حال كانت تعميمية، وبالطبع فإنها مجرد إجتهاد منى – لرؤية الإطار الذى يوظفه المخرجون بطرق مختلفة، فرؤيته كنوافذ على العالم تشبه...الأخوان داردن &...
