Trying To Be Clever...: February 2015
http://trulyclever.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 27, 2015. Friday is pizza night at our house. I've been making the sauce and crust from scratch this year. They are both delectable. Or so I thought. Peter: Mom, can we please have frozen pizza tonight? Peter: Well, no offense Mom, but I like frozen pizza better than the homemade stuff you make. He also fessed up to preferring the mac and cheese from the box above the homemade kind I like to serve. Apparently mine is too cheesy. Thursday, February 26, 2015. Can You Hear Me Now? Will it g...

Trying To Be Clever...: December 2014
http://trulyclever.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 31, 2014. A Year of Outtakes. I upload all of my pictures to Google . The folks at Google (or their robot servants) put together a little movie of my photos. The thing is, most of the snapshots they picked are outtakes, not-quite-perfect variations of better pictures. I guess that's fitting since none of us are perfect. So here are some of the pictures that didn't quite make it onto the blog before. Consider it our blooper reel. So long 2014, hello 2015. Tuesday, December 30, 2014.

Trying To Be Clever...: August 2015
http://trulyclever.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 31, 2015. We are continuing to make progress on our war against stuff. On Saturday the kids and I folded several loads of laundry. Then, instead of sending them with their own apparel to put away, I sat down with each child and went through every item in their basket and drawers. Between hand-me-downs, new school clothes, and the fact that most of his shirts still fit from last year, we discovered that Cooper had twenty short-sleeved shirts in his drawer. Twenty! The second woman, a clinical psychologist who teaches at Rutger's and writes textbooks, spoke about mental and emotional health. And then there was me. And you know what? Spiritual food is necessary f...

Trying To Be Clever...: June 2015
http://trulyclever.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 30, 2015. I had a few people ask if we had an adventure for my birthday. As a matter of fact, we did. We spent the entire week leading up to my birthday in Atlantic City. Now, you may be asking yourself, "What could a girl who doesn't gamble or drink possibly find to do in Atlantic City? Quite a bit, as it turns out. The cousins had lots of fun playing together. And eating together. And being slightly mischievous together. Or something like that. The boys played together too. Henry alwa...

Trying To Be Clever...: The Temple in the Circle City
http://trulyclever.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-temple-in-circle-city.html
Monday, August 3, 2015. The Temple in the Circle City. We are in Illinois! We rolled out of New Jersey on Friday and spent that night on the border of West Virginia (which I'd never been in before! And Ohio. The next day, after washing and folding our laundry, we drove to the Indianapolis Temple Open House. The Temple is beautiful. I especially loved the original artwork throughout. The whole tour was over too fast. We asked the kids what their favorite part of the Temple was. Phoebe love...All In One Day.

Trying To Be Clever...: March 2015
http://trulyclever.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 31, 2015. April Fool's Day came early this afternoon when big fat snowflakes started falling from the sky. Peter found a way to beat the cold and he asked me to make a movie of him explaining his coping mechanism. That was all Peter; the only direction I gave him was to tell him to make his bed before I started filming. He also made a colorful umbrella to keep the imaginary sun from burning his pale skin. It fell down right before we made the movie, so it didn't make it on screen. I made a...
