The house stands in an elevated position overlooking Loch Long and the Arrochar Alps beyond, with large private gardens of mature shrubs, trees and lawns. An enclosed patio and lawned garden area leads off from the games room, with table and chairs, bench, and picnic table, and a large bbq. The large sloping front lawn, surrounded by rhododendrons (perfect to hide in! Private parking which can easily accommodate five cars.

At Tarbet, take the A83 towards Campbeltown for two miles. On arriving in Arrochar, turn left at the Arrochar Hotel (signposted A814 Helensburgh) and continue along the lochside for 900 metres. I was born in London but lived most of my life in Essex. These days, since my retirement in 1996, I have moved to Scotland in the Southern Uplands area. I am bascially a self taught artist although I have received tution from professional tutors and have attended many workshops and art courses over the years. Welcome to the Mansefield Garden Website. Mansefield is a Category B listed former Georgian Manse. The original house was built in 1718 and faced the road. Today this comprises the middle, harled section of the current house. A further wing, to the rear of this, was added in 1820 with 2 later additions in Victorian times. The adjacent Alford West Church was built between 1804 and 1826 and contains several locally important gravestones including those of early botanist John Duncan and poet Charles Murray.
