Wednesday, April 23, 2014. We took a field trip to Gentle Barn. Today, just 35 min southwest of Palmdale, with other homeschool families. Gentle Barn is an sanctuary for around 170 animals that experienced abuse or neglect in the past. Its mission is to rehabilitate them and give them a safe place to live out the rest of their lives. Sunday, October 21, 2012. Mark is off at a Men's Retreat this weekend for church, so I thought I'd make the most of the time alone with the girls (as if we don't have that ALL the time anyway! And do some special activities with them. As we finished up our tea, I put on a Strawberry Shortcake movie. Then we headed outside for lots of tree climbing (the girls, that is! And leaf pile jumping (I was in charge or raking the piles). Taylor is shocked that Rory can climb just about as well as she can!
